Men's Health Week gives everyone an opportunity to encourage men and boys to take better care of their health and to seek help or treatment at an early stage. As per World Health Organization (WHO) report, the average male life expectancy is 69.1 years, while the average female life expectancy is 73.8 years. Men are less likely to recognise the warning signs of diseases like cancer than women. In addition, older men are more prone to experience the detrimental consequences of social isolation on their mental health, resulting in decreased quality of life. Men’s Health Week is not just a campaign, it’s a call to action for all men to take their health seriously. This week, take the time to know your numbers and make informed decisions about your health. Let’s ensure that men’s health truly counts this year! Happy International Men's Health Week 2024!! #men #health #mentalhealth #career

🌟 Men’s Health Month: Men Matter! 🌟 June is Men's Health Month, a time to recognize the importance of men’s health and address the unique challenges men face. Often, societal expectations pressure men to be tough and self-reliant, leading many to neglect their health. Mental health issues go unspoken, and physical ailments are ignored, as men strive to "tough it out." But men's health is crucial for building strong, healthy communities. When men take care of their health, they can better support their families, contribute to their workplaces, and improve their productivity. This month, let's encourage men to prioritize their well-being, seek medical advice when needed, and break the stigma around discussing health issues. Men’s health matters—for everyone. #MensHealthMonth #MensHealthMatter #SDG3 Daniel Ijeh Lawrence Achapu Agadagba Ogheneruno

It’s a reminder for women everywhere to prioritize their health and self-care. Here are a few ways to improve your overall physical and mental health: 1. Get regular check-ups, including annual wellness visits and all recommended cancer and other health screenings 2. Mental well-being is just as important as physical health, take time to relax, do things you enjoy, lean on your support system and seek help when you may need it 3. Practice healthy habits. Eat a heart-healthy balanced diet, stay active, and get enough sleep. Small changes can lead to big improvements For more information on Women’s Health Week and resources: https://lnkd.in/g9atNrG

June is Men’s International Health Month, an important time to highlight the health challenges and risks faced by men, particularly in our demanding renewable energy industry. Long shifts, extended periods away from families, and the pressures of meeting tight deadlines can severely impact mental health. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, male suicides account for approximately 75% of all suicides annually in Australia. In 2022 alone, there were 2,384 male suicides. This increased in 2023, with 2,442 male suicides out of a total of 3,249 suicides, underscoring the urgent need for mental health support and awareness . In our sector, the risks are notably high. Workers in construction and remote site operations are particularly vulnerable. The construction industry, for instance, has one of the highest suicide rates among Australian industries, with male construction workers almost twice as likely to take their own lives compared to other employed males. How You Can Get Involved: 1. Promote Open Conversations: Foster a culture where employees feel comfortable discussing their mental health. Regular check-ins and open dialogues can make a significant difference. 2. Provide Resources: Ensure that employees have access to mental health resources, such as counselling services, helplines, and workshops. 3. Support Work-Life Balance: Implement flexible work schedules to allow employees more time with their families, reducing the stress of long shifts and time away from home. Let’s use Men’s Health Month, and Australia’s Men’s Health Week, to not only raise awareness but also to take actionable steps towards improving the mental health of our colleagues. Together, we can create a healthier, more supportive workplace. Stay safe, stay connected. --- #menshealth #menshealthmonth #menshealthweek #mentalhealth #malesuicide https://lnkd.in/dvvE-YiC https://lnkd.in/eCdY_FWw

Let's Talk Men's Health ♂️ Did you know that Australian men have a lower life expectancy than women and face higher rates of chronic diseases? They are also more likely to be overweight and have a suicide rate over three times higher than women. Traditional masculine norms often stigmatise seeking help, leading to delayed healthcare access. Men's Health Week (10-16 June) is our chance to change this. Let’s promote healthy lifestyles and open conversations about men’s health in our communities, families, and workplaces. At TMR, we believe in fostering a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable seeking help and maintaining their wellbeing. Whether it’s through regular check-ups, staying active, or simply talking about mental health, every effort counts. Share your #HealthyHabits this #MensHealthWeek and help us promote positive health for men and boys. Together, we can create a healthier, happier future for all. 🌟 Did you know it's #MensHealthWeek? 🌟 The statistics on men’s health are stark: 1 in 5 men dies before the age of 65. Men are nearly twice as likely as women to die prematurely from diabetes. At any one time, 12.5% of men report having a mental health condition, and we can all agree that this is massively underreported. TOGETHER, we can change these stats. Seeing these figures and thinking of my colleagues and friends is genuinely concerning. But the purpose of this week is to highlight what men can do to look after themselves and how the rest of us can support them. Here are some excellent resources to help get physically and mentally healthy: International Men’s Health Week - https://lnkd.in/ecgyBQ52 Mates In Mind - https://lnkd.in/epR3YHuY The Men’s Health Forum: DIY Man MOT - https://lnkd.in/exep5me5 Let’s embrace Men’s Health Week 2024 as a time to raise awareness, foster open conversations, and empower men to take control of their physical and mental well-being. Together, we can make a difference and inspire a healthier future. 💪✨ #MensHealthWeek2024 #HealthAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #SupportEachOther
