Jaime's journey to a healthier lifestyle at our Morpeth Sports and Leisure Centre is a great example of how exercise routines can evolve with life changes. 🧡 She started with regular swimming sessions and Aquafit classes at the centre, then after her first child was born, she adapted her routine to include baby yoga and Mams on the Move classes! With the support of the Morpeth team and facilities, Jaime has significantly improved her physical and mental health while setting a healthy example for her kids. She says it best: "Take your time and change one thing at a time. It's a marathon, not a sprint." Reflecting on nearly three decades of hard work and life’s twists and turns, I’ve come to a profound realization: health, happiness, and time are truly invaluable. Throughout the years, I’ve experienced both triumphs and setbacks, hitting a few home runs but also enduring many strike outs. As I mature, I understand more deeply than ever that we cannot purchase additional time, health, or happiness. They are priceless commodities that require careful nurturing and attention. With this insight in mind, I’ve set a clear intention for my 40s: to prioritize self-care and well-being. Gone are the days of solely chasing success and material achievements. Instead, I aim to embark on a journey of cruising through life, savoring each moment and taking better care of my body and mind. It’s a commitment to fostering a healthier lifestyle, both physically and mentally, and cherishing the simple joys that life has to offer. While the pursuit of success is important, it pales in comparison to the significance of our health and overall happiness. By shifting my focus towards self-care and mindfulness, I am laying the foundation for a more fulfilling and balanced life in my 40s and beyond. #PrioritizeHealth #EmbraceHappiness #CherishTime

Over the weekend, I organized my first “Surviving to Thriving in the Ocean” masterclass to boost ocean confidence. It was so much fun for both the participants and me!🌸🙏 In the afternoon, my childhood friend, who is in Australia for work, asked me to arrange a surf lesson for her coworkers and herself. I reached out to @kirrapoint.surfschool , and they made it possible. Everyone had a blast! (And I highly recommend them.🏄♀️) At the end of each activity, I was often asked: “Why do you mix all these as a coach? Why swimming, fitness, psych-k®, and so on?” My first answer was simple: because I love doing all of this, and I believe it’s all connected. On Sunday, I had a deep and powerful chat with @ana_salido_ ,which reminded us of our ‘why’. Here’s mine: I mix different modalities because they all teach us how to truly take care of ourselves—not just superficially, but on a deeper level. Self-care is more than just going to the spa. It’s about nurturing, healing, feeding, and growing our mind, body, and soul. They are all interconnected. As women, we often put ourselves last, but we need to change that. My goal as an individual, coach, and business owner is to grow, evolve, and lead by example. I want to help other women take care of themselves and do the same, no matter what it means for each of us. #selfcare #womenempowerment #healthylifestyle #mindbodysoul #swimming #subconsciousmind #fitnessmotivation #halfironmantraining

As I reflect on my last semester of college, I am reminded of how stressful that period was due to various professional and personal reasons. However, it was during this time that I found solace in participating in sports GCs (General Championships) like basketball and football. These activities provided a much-needed escape from the stressful world, even for a while. After the GCs ended, I took up jogging, and it was a revelation. I realized that physical exercise acts as a powerful antidepressant. There were days when jogging was the only thing that made me feel good. This experience led me to understand the profound connection between physical and mental health. Exercise not only makes you physically stronger but also mentally resilient. It offers a new perspective, helps you push your limits, and, of course, keeps you healthy. In our hectic lives, it is crucial to carve out time for ourselves and focus on our health. Simple activities like yoga, a 15-20 minute walk, jogging, or running can make a significant difference. After all, a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Let’s take a moment to prioritize our well-being and make physical activity a part of our daily routine. Happy International Yoga Day! #InternationalYogaDay #MentalHealth #PhysicalHealth #Exercise

Getting out the door for the gym or training after a mentally and physically demanding day can be one of the hardest things to do. It’s a challenge I faced tonight. Even as someone who has built a life around physical activity—working as an international athlete and professional sportsman—I still find it difficult sometimes. The hardest part is often just taking that first step out the door. But tonight, I pushed through and made it to rugby training. The moment I got moving, the energy, the camaraderie, and the thrill kicked in. I had an absolute blast, and now I feel incredible. The truth is, the benefits of exercise and staying healthy are undeniable. It’s not just about physical fitness but also mental resilience. If you’re struggling to get moving after a tough day, remember that the hardest part is stepping outside—everything after that is worth it. Keep pushing, take that step, and invest in your health. It truly is the key to a balanced and fulfilling life. #MotivationMonday #FitnessJourney #MentalHealthMatters #Wellness #ActiveLifestyle #ProfessionalAthlete #RugbyLife #HealthIsWealth #MindsetMatters #StayActive #PersonalGrowth #Discipline #OvercomingChallenges #Wellbeing #Inspiration

#linkedin #firstresponders I wish I could say which is best - walking or cycling - I’m all for doing whichever your joints will allow. I personally like both and don’t think we have to choose. Do one or the other or both - up to #you I now prefer a very #fast #brisk #walk compared to a leisure one. #exercise is just one of the many things that have kept me #mentally #strong since a kid - hadn’t realized this until I stopped exercising as a teenager my junior year and quit running track, I experienced a bout of #sadness and #disinterest and did not like that feeling, but didn’t want to get up and go to track practice. I just didn’t want to do anything, I had #zilch #drive and #selfmotivation Help came unexpectedly.. Well my coach came to my home and my grandmother was not having me #quit or #giveup - so I was supported in there own way and #voluntold to go back to track practices, literally that same day I was taken to practice - two great takeaways; 1) sadness gone 😮 2) interest picked back up 🥳 I was grateful for the push I received and sometimes we need that little #nudgeofsupport 💪🏾 I say all that to say… There will be a time to choose, to either make a decision of your life or finding your people that will #back you and give that little nudge in the right #direction to get you back on track 🤗 So seriously - #walk or #cycle 👈🏾❓ #mentalhealth #mentaltoughness #fitforduty #fitness #mentalstrength #depression #cit #grwm #followforfollowback #changeyourmind

I started going to the gym for mental strength not physical: What I mean by this: 1. it releases endorphins which makes you feel good 2. it combats stress 3. you look good you feel good and if you’re consistent you will 100% see improvements in the way you look 4. if you lift weights, you’ll feel stronger physically and mentally What you choose to do to workout is upto you. If you like sports start with that. Swim, dance do whatever you enjoy. Choose an activity that makes you feel good & you’ll feel excited to show up & be consistent. #workout #mentalfitness #physicalfitness #strong
