Malaysia International Healthcare (MIH) Megatrends 2024 The last three days of the conference have been energizing and enlightening with diverse perspectives yet consistent themes on collective actions that we need to take for the next frontier! Yesterday, our Executive Chair, Octavius Black, presented the findings of our latest research on workplace wellbeing in the United Arab Emirates. This research, endorsed by Harvard Professor Amy Edmondson and CHROs from companies such as LEGO and HSBC, exposes why corporate wellbeing programmes fail. Highlights include: 🟢 A study involving nearly 33,000 employees over 18 months found that corporate health and wellness programmes failed to improve 78 of 80 employee wellbeing measures, including mental health. 🟢 Companies tend to focus on providing perks such as gym memberships and yoga. However, research suggests that the most significant positive shifts can come from enhancing employees' work experiences. 🟢 Establishing a psychologically empowering workplace that fosters a strong sense of certainty, competence, autonomy, belonging, and purpose is paramount.
