On World Environment Day, Phoenix Holdings reaffirms its commitment to environmental sustainability through #impactful initiatives: #Carbon Offsetting - We offset approximately 700 tons of CO2 emissions from employee flights by supporting innovative projects like afforestation, planting over 479 trees across Israel. Regenerative #Agriculture - Promoting #sustainable farming practices, we enabled conservation tillage across 1,400 acres, helping sequester an estimated 2,800 tons of CO2 over 5 years. Food Waste Reduction - Our program engaged 880 classrooms in 47 Bedouin schools to separate and repurpose 2.5 tons of food waste daily as animal feed. Renewable Energy - We facilitated installing 110 kW of solar panels on residential buildings, driving the adoption of clean energy solutions. They are grouped into ❹ focus areas: ❶Marine Resources ﹏𓊝﹏𓂁﹏ Interreg Euro-MED SPOWIND, 2B-BLUE, AZA4ICE and Blue Ecosystem are exploring ways to sustainably manage our oceans and coasts. These projects are leading efforts in marine energy and blue biotechnology to ensure a healthy and thriving Mediterranean Sea. ❷Agri-food systems 𖡼𖤣𖥧𖡼𓋼𖤣𖥧𓋼𓍊 Carbon Farming MED, Clepsydra and OliveOilMedNet help farmers adapt to climate change, promote carbon farming and improve water resource management. ❸Industrial transition ⫘⫘⫘ Focused on paving the way for a greener, more digital economy, the CircleMED Project, GREENSMARTMED Project, REVIVE and ProcuraMED projects are spearheading efforts to improve sustainable production and consumption, driving the industrial transition towards sustainability. ❹Resource valorisation 🗂️ REPper, eWAsTER Euro-MED, VERDEinMED aim to turn waste into valuable resources.
