Brilliant new (very weighty) research from Parentkind on parents' challenges and experiences this past year. I'm struck that a third of parents (over half of Mums, in fact) find caring responsibilities and household chores one of the barriers and concerns to being there as much as they would like to for their children. These feel like quite different barriers. The Faces of Healthcare videos are now live! I'm proud to have been involved in the early stages of this project. One goal was to communicate healthcare career pathways for alternative education high school and adult GED students. One of my favorite videos features Lisa, showcasing that healthcare also encompasses business and non-clinical roles. Her journey illustrates how career paths can be winding and indirect, sharing her experiences in various healthcare jobs before landing her current role in contracting. I love it! Lisa is passionate about making a difference and negotiating for community members who need advocacy. She works as a senior director of contracting and network management.
