The Frontline Health Workers Coalition (FHWC) Supports the Dedicated Line Item for Health Workers in Lower Income Countries An alliance of 40+ organizations dedicated to supporting health workers in lower- and middle-income countries, FHWC welcomed the inclusion of the new, dedicated line item for “Global Health Workforce” of $10 million for FY 24. FHWC, along with its partners, worked hard to secure this initial investment in frontline health workers around the world. Many thanks to our Congressional champions. Next year, it is imperative to increase this amount to at least $20 million for FY 25. We strongly urge the Senate to include $20 million aligning with the request made by the Administration. https://lnkd.in/ekdnXwB6

Senators Introduce Long-Term Care Workforce Support Act In what undoubtedly is a step in the right direction, three U.S. senators introduced the Long-Term Care Workforce Support Act, which recognizes the increasing need/demand for long-term care workers (chief among them home health and home care workers) and proposes funding support for those workers and providers in the space. As always, the devil will be in the details, and the interests of home-based care providers being squeezed on multiple fronts (including by HHS) need to be considered. In my view, it's a good start to a conversation that needs to be had. Now. https://lnkd.in/eJYCyvYY

Labour has declared that the 'NHS is broken'. People are living longer, the population is growing, and people are experiencing more intersecting health conditions. Is the system broken, or does it just need to adapt to these new challenges? With the right investment, the NHS can create, enable and sustain healthy and independent lives, IMPOWER's Oliver Barnes explains in latest blog. https://lnkd.in/eUP-q9jQ
