Historically, LGBTQIA+ leaders have been at the forefront of social change, advocating for the rights and recognition of LGBTQIA+ individuals and other marginalized groups. Figures like Harvey Milk and Marsha P. Johnson, for example, have help dismantled systemic barriers and challenged discriminatory practices, contributing to a vision for a more just and equitable world. In corporate spaces, LGBTQIA+ leaders are driving diversity and inclusion practices, championing stakeholder governance to prioritize the well-being and interests of all stakeholders, thereby ensuring that LGBTQIA+ individuals and other marginalized groups have a genuine voice. To mark #InternationalPrideDay, we spoke with three LGBTQIA+ led #BCorps – BUDDY BUDDY, Eosis, and Mightybytes, Certified B Corp — to learn how they successfully integrate stakeholder governance into their business practices and continuously work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable system. Their authenticity, resilience, and commitment to inclusivity set a powerful example, encouraging others to embrace diversity as a strength and to build workplaces and communities where everyone can thrive. 🏳️🌈🔗 Read the full blog post on our website to learn more about their stories: https://bit.ly/4eI09T9 #LGBTQIA #DiversityAndInclusion #StakeholderGovernance #BCorp

We are committed to creating inclusive and welcoming environments for everyone. Our latest document, "Queer Perspectives on Public Space," addresses LGBTQIA+ inclusivity in the built environment. This document is based on a global online experiential survey that highlights the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals in public spaces, filling a critical data gap. In collaboration with the University of Westminster, we analysed the data and conducted workshops to identify key themes. The result is robust, evidence-based research grounded in the perspectives, experiences, and aspirations of LGBTQIA+ people. It offers actionable recommendations to foster the creation of inclusive and welcoming spaces for diverse communities. Inclusivity in the LGBTQIA+ community means more than just acceptance; it means celebrating the full spectrum of human diversity with open hearts and open minds. ✅ It’s about creating spaces where love in all its forms is seen, heard, and honored. ✅ Inclusivity means lifting each other up, turning whispers of isolation into roars of unity. It's about recognizing that our differences are not weaknesses but strengths, and that together, we create a more vibrant and resilient community. ✅ Inclusivity transforms society into a mosaic of courage, respect, and boundless love, where everyone can shine their brightest and live their truth unapologetically. ✅ Let’s ensure that every person, regardless of who they are or who they love, feels seen, valued, and celebrated. Because when we stand together in solidarity and embrace our shared humanity, we create a world where everyone can thrive. 🌈✨ #InclusiveLove #LGBTQIA #BelongingMatters Image: A background composed of hands with LGBT-colored paint with headline text ‘Inclusive: What does it really mean?’

"What work can be done by someone like you?" 🤨 This is something which people often hear when they are lagging a particular skill. Think about a situation where you are going to hear this for whole of your life. During my time at Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB), I had the incredible opportunity to meet the CEO of the Inclusive Divyangjan Entrepreneur Association - IDEA. This meeting was a profound reminder of the importance of building a society where everyone, regardless of their abilities, feels included and valued. IDEA is dedicated to promoting livelihoods, access to information, availing services and facilities across education, health, shelter, skill training, scholarships, job opportunities and assistive aids. Their ambitious goal to create 1 Lakh Divyangjan-led enterprises is truly inspiring. July, being #DisabilityPrideMonth, has further reinforced my commitment to advocating for a more inclusive society. Through insightful discussions, I have learned about the unique challenges faced by disabled individuals and the vital role we all play in fostering an environment where they do not feel separated or marginalized. Moreover, my learnings during #LGBTQPrideMonth have highlighted the intersecting struggles of many within the disabled community who also identify as LGBTQ+. It is crucial that we acknowledge and support the diverse identities and experiences within our society. Inclusivity is not just a goal; it is a continuous journey of understanding, empathy, and action. I am deeply inspired by the resilience and strength of the disabled community and am committed to promoting a culture of acceptance and equality in all aspects of life. I look forward to understand and participate more towards building inclusive society with the help of Fortune Institute of International Business. Let's continue to strive for a world where everyone can thrive, regardless of their abilities or identities. 🌍❤️ #DisabilityPrideMonth #LGBTQPride #Inclusivity #Diversity #Empowerment #FIIB #Community #Equality

There’s a new plan to support LGBTQIA+ communities to shine and it’s the first of its kind in Queensland. The Queensland Government has released Pride in our Communities, a plan to support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexual plus (LGBTQIA+) people to live authentically by being celebrated, safe and supported. Pride in our Communities focuses on the things that matter most to LGBTQIA+ Queenslanders: ⭐ embedding an LGBTQIA+ inclusive culture across Queensland ⭐ fostering stronger communities and connections ⭐ providing responsive, inclusive and accessible services. Social connectedness is a key component of mental and emotional wellbeing. When people feel connected to their community, they experience lower levels of stress, greater life satisfaction, and improved overall health. On this International LGBTQI+ Pride Day and throughout the year, we international development practitioners are reminded of the crucial importance of amplifying the voices of the LGBTQI+ community in project design and programming. Such inclusion is essential to end discrimination, uphold human rights, and ensure sustainable development for all. Our Managing Director for Latin America, Galo Quizanga, emphasizes, "In our commitment to equity and human rights, it is crucial to acknowledge that globally, 9 out of 10 youth who identify as LGBTQI+ face discrimination or violence. LGBTQI+ rights are fundamental human rights, and we cannot allow anyone to be left behind. Now more than ever, it is imperative that we strengthen our support for this community to ensure that everyone lives in peace and dignity." We remain committed to prioritizing inclusion efforts and are encouraged to see development leaders like USAID focusing on LGBTQI+ inclusive development. https://lnkd.in/g_ajjpQ5 #Inclusion #InclusiveDevelopment #LGBTQI #Youth #Pride #HumanRights #InclusionMatters
