Are you doing #interdisciplinary and #transdisciplinary research or education in the Netherlands or Belgium, and attending the international Inter- and Transdisciplinary Alliance conference in Utrecht, Nov. 4-8 ( https://lnkd.in/ej2PD3bs )? Then we do invite and encourage you to join us at the special National Interdisciplinary Education event that we're hosting on Nov. 4, 13.30-16.00 at the conference venue in Utrecht. As we've seen in previous installments of our NIE conferences and events, this network not being very big, it is useful to have these meetings for exchanging experiences and best practices as we're all in some sense coping with an environment that is challenging for doing ID/TD work - even though ID/TD is a buzzword and used everywhere. Perhaps precisely this popularity makes it extra challenging to determine & insist on what specific expertise and resources are required to support the role of ID/TD. So do join us on Nov. 4 and register via the form below! #interdisciplinarystudies #associationforinterdisciplinarystudies #transdisciplinarity Instituut voor Interdisciplinaire Studies - UvA (IIS)
💡 Sign up now for the National Interdisciplinary Education Event 2024: Exploring Interdisciplinary Approaches and Networking 💡 Join us at the NIE Exploring Interdisciplinary Approaches and Networking Event, Monday November 4th, 13:30 - 16:00, Utrecht where members of the Dutch and Flemish interdisciplinary community will come together to connect, share insights, and explore inter- and transdisciplinary approaches in education and research. The NIE event is open to everyone and is especially welcoming to ITD visitors seeking to engage with our Dutch network and contribute to the discussion on interdisciplinary teaching and research. Please sign up before October 15th. To sign up, go to the website. We look forward to seeing you there! Thoroughly enjoyed this conference, thanks Lazaro! Our paper (The Centre for Researching Education and Labour (REAL), Wits University) looked at recognition of skills and qualifications in the Southern African region; we had an interesting session with a paper looking at the effects of migration on skill formation in Kosovo, with Linda Wanklin and Jehona Serhati, and migrants and VET in the UK with Andrea Laczik. What roles VET can and can't play in supporting migrants, but equally importantly from the perspective of us in the South, how the migration of skilled workers affects our economies and skill formation systems, is going to be an increasingly important issue.
The 9th Stockholm International Conference of Research on Vocational Education and Training just concluded! We meet researchers representing VET systems from 25 countries who presented research findings and networked. Particularly encouraging to have so many young researchers presenting concluded PhD works or theses in progress! Thanks to all for the contributions! Looking forward to our 10th conference in May 2026!
