In men with severe sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), the severity and duration of SDB-related hypoxemia was greater in those with impaired vs preserved diffusing capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide. Study in Annals of the American Thoracic Society. https://brnw.ch/21wIF6U

One of the best ways to sensitize your nervous system to the cranial movement is to practice feeling as many craniums as possible. There are four types of movement we evaluate in the cranium - primary respiratory (CSF), secondary respiratory (diaphragmatic) dural meningeal tension, and sutural mobility. drmartinrosen.com

Let's understand some types of RESPIRATORY DISORDERS, based on WHAT GETS ACCUMULATED in the PLEURAL SPACE 1. PNEUMOTHORAX: - In this condition: AIR gets accumulated inside the pleural space: leads to LUNG COLLAPSE. 2. HEMOTHORAX: - From the name itself: in this condition: BLOOD gets accumulated inside the pleural space. 3. EMPYEMA: - In this condition: PUS gets accumulated inside pleural space. 4. PLEURAL EFFUSION: - In this condition: FLUID gets accumulated inside pleural space. #DrKashif #RespiratoryDisorders

Cardiac arrest is a sudden, life-threatening condition that causes the heart to stop pumping effectively, leading to the loss of heart function, breathing, and consciousness. It occurs when an electrical disturbance disrupts the heart’s ability to pump blood, preventing oxygen-rich blood from reaching vital organs like the brain. Without immediate medical intervention, such as CPR or a defibrillator, cardiac arrest can be fatal within minutes. Unlike a heart attack, which is caused by a blockage restricting blood flow to the heart, cardiac arrest is primarily an electrical malfunction. Paradoxical chest movement refers to abnormal chest wall motion where a segment of the chest moves inward during inspiration and outward during expiration, opposite to normal breathing. This typically occurs in flail chest due to fractures of multiple adjacent ribs, leading to loss of chest wall stability. In cases of complete airway obstruction, paradoxical movement can involve the entire chest. During inspiration, the chest collapses due to negative intrathoracic pressure, and during expiration, it expands abnormally. This indicates severe respiratory distress and requires immediate intervention to restore airflow.
