We need established companies to collaborate deeply with start-ups to make it happen. 🚀 That's why we launched the event series "DeepTech Runway" together with Marvelous - Deeptech Fund and Catalyst for Climate Solutions . The goal of the event is to connect start-ups with groundbreaking technical solutions to established companies with practical problems and resources. We didn't want this to become just another stiff business conference. We aimed for immediate action, and it worked! Over 100 participants met at .GUT Am Flughafen 1, and almost everyone left with valuable new contacts, inspiration, and new projects. 🌍 Are you a start-up aiming to save the world? Two people who would otherwise rarely (if ever) meet. But both represent two of the most important ingredients we need, to build successful innovation hubs (you can add #AI and #Hessen here, but it's the same for the rest😉, too!). Simone was just accepted into the prestigious Emmy Noether Programme (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - German Research Foundation to extend #XAI to dense visual tasks. Ingo supports our programs with knowledge and contacts about financing and venture capital since day one - with massively positive feedback from the teams, every time he's in. Without research excellence and money, we will not go anywhere with startups and innovation. 𝐁𝐔𝐓: Connecting those worlds, including industry partners, really is hard work🏋️♂️ . Languages are different; as are priorities and personal KPIs. Those are "thick planks to be drilled" - and sometimes it almost feels impossible. Let other founders do a spontaneous pitch on the stage being judged by a jury consisting from members of the audience. Jaffrey Hudson I. took on this challenge with hesistation at all and presented a very interesting Idea which helps exhchange students to feel home and be properly equipped for their short-term stay: UGOBEL focuses on making home setup sustainable through #circular economy. When you move to a new apartment lots of small appliances are still missing. So then you go shopping to get them and try to buy them as cheap as possible to then throw them away after your stay (or before, because they break due to bad quality). UGOBEL focuses on small articles like bedsheets, pans etc. Their service brings convenience for short term stays, as they deliver all the required articles in a box and give the customer the option to resell back to the company for a fixed price within 9 months. In short, Jaffrey aims to stop the the throw-away culture for bedroom and kitchen articles and focuses on international students and residents that only stay in Germany for a short-term.
