Sharing the important philanthropic work of community foundations in the UKCF network.

What are the personal benefits and social values of setting up a donor advised fund for your community? This week, I attended an event in Bristol hosted by Philanthropy Impact's CEO, John Pepin, that featured a panel of donors and philanthropy advisers, including Quartet Community Foundation's interim CEO, Ronnie Brown. In the room was a mix of local and national charities, financial advisers, legal firms and interested individuals wanting to give back. What I found really exciting was the eagerness from everyone to talk about their positive experiences working with #CommunityFoundations, with one donor stating how "non-salesy" they are, "they just get on with doing good". Another donor said, "We've been learning about multi-year funding grants. We've got an endowment fund and a revenue fund - the endowment fund will go beyond our lives. The community foundation knows the people on the ground, the resources needed and they're very good at telling us what's necessary. For me, there's no point in having funds sitting there and not doing anything." All good things start with a conversation: 🌱 https://lnkd.in/ez85SNUG #FinancialAdvise #Philanthropy #WealthManagement
