Trust isn't outdated. Our way of building trust in the sales process ... well, that's definitely outdated. We recently had a great session with a client team, and we focused on three things: 1️⃣ Personal chemistry 2️⃣ Pattern interrupts 3️⃣ Personalized questions The beauty was that, well, we didn't just *talk* about each of these things. We explored each concept, tied it to the individual pieces of our sales process, and examined how we can hold ourselves accountable to achieving each piece throughout our sales cycle. And that's where we turn theory into practice, and practice into performance. Building trust is naturally easy for some people, and incredibly difficult to do for others. With so many nuances, personality styles, and communication preferences abounding in today's world, it's important to have a strategy that leverages your strengths and empowers you to meet your buyers where they are. Your strategy, and your ability to execute it, will make it much easier to establish and maintain trust with your buyers over time. Have you had a recent challenge in building trust with a prospect or client? Drop a comment below and let's talk about it! #raiseyourrevenue #sandler #sales #growth

Think sales is just a numbers game? Think again. It’s not an exact science, but psychology tells us a lot about why people say 'yes'! The reality is, sales is less about the product and more about the emotion. Are you selling just a feature, or are you selling how it makes life easier, safer, more productive, or even cooler, etc.? Remember, the best sales pitches are conversations where you listen more than you speak. Find out what really drives your customer—this insight lets you tailor your approach to what really resonates. And don’t just aim for quick wins; build trust. Trust turns a transaction into a relationship and a one-time buyer into a lifelong customer. The Psychology of Selling: Understanding The Buyer's Journey Understanding the buyer's journey is crucial for effective selling. Here are the four key stages: 1. Engagement: Buyers identify problems and needs but are unsure about solutions or taking action. 2. Consideration: Buyers seek insights and information to explore specific courses of action. Sales professionals help by providing clarity amid overwhelming information. 3. Decision: Buyers evaluate costs, urgency, and whether they can handle the problem independently. 4. Advocacy: Based on their experience, buyers become either advocates or frustrated customers. Our goal is to create raving fans who provide referrals and consider future business with us. Key Actions for Sales Professionals: 1. Meet Buyers Where They Are: Engage authentically, providing the right information for their stage in the journey. Scripts alone won't build relationships. 2. Qualify Hard, Close Easy: Ensure buyers have a problem strong enough to act upon, that we can solve, and that they have the resources and willingness to invest. 3. Facilitate Smart Decisions: Ensure the decision, whether to close the sale or close the file, is the right fit for both parties. 4. Ensure Seamless Handoff: Make transitions from sales to implementation to customer service impeccable to create advocates and set up future business and referrals. Understanding these stages and actions helps build strong relationships, provide real value, and drive sales growth. As a CEO, I'm involved in the selling process every day—sometimes as a customer, but mostly as a seller. Do you ever feel uneasy at the thought of selling? ⛔ You’re not alone. Many people instantly link the selling process with something scummy and embarrassing. But why is that? 🔍The Root of the Problem For years, sales have been portrayed negatively in media, and encounters with pushy salespeople haven't helped. The image of the sleazy, aggressive salesperson has stuck in our collective mind, making us wary of any sales process. ⭐ Reframing the Perspective But what if we change the angle? Selling is actually about solving problems and adding value. A good salesperson listens more than they talk, understands the customer's needs, and provides genuine solutions. Think about the best experiences you’ve had when making a purchase—they were likely marked by empathy, understanding, and a sense of trust. 💡 Here are a few ways I believe that can contribute to changing the sales narrative: 🔸 Client Value First: Always prioritize the customer’s needs and how your product/service can genuinely help them. 🔸Build Trust: Be transparent, honest, and communicative. Trust is the foundation of any good relationship. 🔸Continuous Improvement: Your clients will always expect more—a better proposition, a better attitude. Be ready to constantly improve your communication with them and bring additional value that can, of course, convert into additional income. When done right, selling is a powerful tool for creating positive change and delivering real value. 🔗 Comment below with your thoughts on the selling process. ❓ Have you ever walked away from a purchase simply because you didn’t like the salesperson? 💡Being Liked Matters More Than You Think in Sales 💡 It’s easy to assume that success in sales depends solely on the quality or price of your product—but that’s only part of the story. Studies confirm that customers are more likely to buy from people they trust and enjoy interacting with. This is especially true in competitive markets, where likability and relationships often tip the scales. Take a look at the matrix: ➡️ The left column shows situations where customers like you, with a sales probability ranging from 100% to 50%. ➡️ The right column reflects when customers don’t like you, and the probability drops dramatically to 50% or even 0%. What’s fascinating is that this isn’t about the product—it’s about you. The exact same product or service can achieve vastly different results based on the connection you build with your customer. 🎯 How to Tip the Scales in Your Favor: 1️⃣ Focus on building trust and genuine rapport—people buy from those they like. 2️⃣ Listen more than you talk—understand their needs and show empathy. 3️⃣ Consistently follow up with value, not just persistence. 💬 Question for You: What strategies do you use to earn trust and build strong relationships in sales? Let’s share ideas and learn from each other! #SalesTips #SalesSuccess #RelationshipBuilding #CustomerTrust #CloseTheDeal #ProfessionalDevelopment #BusinessGrowth #LeadershipDevelopment #GrowthMindset #CustomerConnections
