💥 HAL successfully completes first flight of Made in India LCA Mark 1A fighter aircraft🚀 ⏹Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) successfully completed the first flight of the Made in India light combat aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mark 1A fighter jet in Bengaluru. ⏹The jet, a superior variant of the light combat aircraft (LCA) Tejas, was flown by chief test pilot, Group Capt K.K. Venugopal (Retd). It was a successful sortie with a flying time of 18 minutes. ⏹Tejas Mark 1A is an indigenously designed, developed and manufactured fighter aircraft with more than 65 per cent indigenous components. ⏹The fighter aircraft is likely to be deployed at Nal airbase in Rajasthan’s Bikaner near the Pakistan border. The first squadron of aircraft is planned to be deployed at the Nal airbase from where it can take care of the western adversary. ⏹Contrary to expectations, the delivery of 83 Mk-1A aircraft to the IAF has been delayed by at least four months from now.Sources in the defence and security establishment told that while the delivery of the first aircraft itself has been delayed, the overall schedule will also be impacted due to “unavoidable reasons”. ⏹IAF had asked for certain software iterations (changes) along with smaller design shifts, besides a “few other changes .All of this will take some more time as even minor changes take time,” the second source said, adding that certain certifications were pending. Asked when the IAF asked for those changes, the source said recently. ⏹The delivery of a small but critical part of the aircraft that was bought from a European company had been delayed because of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, which they said was unavoidable. It is hoped the overall delivery will not be impacted beyond the initial few months. ⏹By next year, the remaining MiG-21 Bison squadrons will be phased out to make way for the new Tejas aircraft, particularly in locations that have decreased strength. ⏹The Tejas Mk-1A will have an advanced electronic radar, warfare communication systems, additional combat capability with Beyond Visual Range Missiles and improved maintenance features. The IAF is looking at 97 more LCA Mk-1A aircraft. Follow Sukrit Wadhawan for more 🚀 #LCA #HAL #FirstFlight #Indigenous #FighterAircraft #IndianAirforce #MakeinIndia #SukritWadhawan

Turkey is getting the latest military technology and is moving ahead with its expansion of military might. The #Turkish company behind unmanned combat #aerial #vehicles that has gained global fame has bought Italian aircraft producer Piaggio Aerospace. The world's largest UCAV company, #Baykar outbid rivals from multiple countries in a competitive tender for the sale of Piaggio Aerospace. With this development #Turkey is further going to enhance its UCAV capability. Matter for concern is that Turkey may make this technology available to #Pakistan. Turkey is otherwise a #NATO member. Also to get a perspective of Geo strategic importance of Turkey take a look at its position on the map

Piloting fighter jets is one of the most intense experiences you can imagine! Flying advanced fighter jets like the F-15C Eagle and the F-22 during my time in the Air Force was an incredible experience. These jets play a crucial role in a wide range of missions, from protecting borders to escorting airlift and ensuring the safety of ground troops by providing air superiority. The responsibility that comes with flying such high-performance aircraft is immense. Operating these jets requires a high level of skill and focus. It’s so important to really understand the multifaceted nature of each mission, making quick decisions, and being ready for anything that comes your way. Every flight is a mix of intense preparation, quick reactions to changing environments, and a deep understanding of the aircraft and the mission at hand. It’s a complex and demanding job, but it’s also incredibly rewarding to know that what you’re doing makes a real difference in keeping people safe. #f22 #f15c #fighterjets #jets #fighterpilot #airforce #explorepage

Dassault Aviation has decided to create a company dedicated exclusively to maintenance, repair and overall (MRO) of its military activities. This company, Dassault Aviation MRO India (DAMROI), incorporated in India and based in Noida (Uttar Pradesh), is a subsidiary of Dassault Aviation. It is committed to meeting the needs of the Indian Air Force by offering tailor-made products and services to support its Mirage 2000 fleet and, more broadly, the fighter aircraft supplied by Dassault Aviation in India, in order to guarantee the best possible responsiveness and efficiency in fulfilling its requirements. Created under the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” policy to contribute to India’s self-reliance and promote indigenous value-added services, DAMROI will benefit from Dassault Aviation’s technological expertise and offer new opportunities for cooperation and collaboration with the aim of becoming a key player in participating to a full-fledged aero defence ecosystem in India. Alongside a significant industrial input to positioning India as an international aerospace supplier under the “Make in India” policy and a full commitment to the “Skill India” initiative through the implementation of training and education programs, this new step shows Dassault Aviation’s determination to make its presence in India, a success and to contribute to India’s strategic vision for its future. #military #defense #defence #militaryleak https://lnkd.in/g2hMXSDY

Today in Asia Times, I wrote about the rivalry between India's Tejas Mk 1A and Pakistan's JF-17 light combat jets. This competition highlights a critical showdown in low-cost fighters, positioning both aircraft as contenders for air supremacy within the region and potential leaders in the global budget fighter market. The Tejas Mk 1A, with its recent significant upgrades, including new AESA radar and comprehensive electronic warfare capabilities, showcases India's intent to advance its indigenous fighter program despite previous delays and challenges, particularly with its General Electric F404 turbofan engine. The comparison extends to both jets' development goals, costs, and technical capabilities, aimed at replacing older aircraft and fitting the needs of cash-strapped air forces with a low-cost yet effective solution. Despite the technical improvements and ambitions for global market penetration, both aircraft face substantial hurdles, including technical issues and political implications affecting their export potential. While the Tejas strives for a breakthrough in the international arena, the JF-17 has already achieved notable export success despite its share of operational challenges. This dynamic between the two aircraft underscores the broader strategic and economic considerations driving military aircraft development and sales on the international stage.

One of the busiest days for the #Israel Air Force, as it seems, with around 10-13 aircraft actively conducting what appears to be ongoing pilot training using BEECHCRAFT T-6 Texan 2 and similar aircraft. Meanwhile, surveillance missions continue uninterrupted, notably marked by the appearance of 𝐘𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧's C-130 Karnaf with the call sign "MICHAEL.". Also the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) 𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐀 𝐂-295 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 has also made an appearance. This Czech Air Force transport aircraft is reportedly serving in the northern sector of the #Sinai, contributing to the region's monitoring efforts. 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: The location of the aircraft on the map is indicative, and 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 due to ongoing GPS jamming in the area. As a result, the dotted flying path and positioning of aircraft to the north are merely illustrative of the signal but do not reflect the correct location.
