Rural roads are a lifeline for millions of Yemenis, supporting agricultural development, fishing, trade, and industry. Since its inception in 2001, Rural Access Program (RAP) has been working to break isolation and improve the living conditions of rural populations. In 2022, RAP has implemented 145 projects across 17 governorates, with a total cost of $535 million, constructing 3,250 kilometres of roads and creating over four million job opportunities, benefiting approximately three million people. We continue to strive towards the vision of Rural Access Program (RAP) to achieve a safe and sustainable road network, contributing to the improvement of millions of Yemeni lives. A massive landslide has devastated Papua New Guinea's Enga Province, burying a significant portion of the village of Yambali. The scale of the disaster is immense, with estimates suggesting that over 2,000 people may have been buried alive as a result of the mountain's collapse while they slept. This catastrophic event has caused widespread destruction, damaging buildings and wiping out food gardens, further straining the nation's already limited resources. Rescue efforts are being hindered by the remote location and challenging terrain of the affected area. In a show of solidarity, the Ministry of External Affairs in India has pledged $1 million in immediate support to aid relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts. Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has sent its first 40-tonne shipment of relief supplies to aid flood-affected Malaysia, where continuous heavy rains have displaced over 122,000 people. The consignment, containing critical items such as tents, blankets, quilts, sleeping bags, mats, and life jackets, was dispatched from Islamabad International Airport. A departure ceremony marked the occasion, attended by Federal Minister for Housing and Works Riaz Hussain Pirzada, alongside representatives from the NDMA and the Malaysian embassy. Minister Pirzada conveyed his heartfelt condolences for the loss of lives caused by the disaster and emphasized Pakistan's unwavering commitment to supporting Malaysia in its time of need. Demonstrating strong bilateral ties, Pakistan plans to send a second shipment of equal volume next week. This initiative reflects Pakistan’s solidarity with Malaysia and its dedication to helping an important ally recover from the devastating floods. The humanitarian assistance comes as Malaysia and Pakistan strengthen their economic relationship. Recently, the Malaysian High Commission hosted an event with key figures from Pakistan’s industrial sector, fostering greater trade and investment collaboration between the two nations. #HumanitarianSupport #PakistanMalaysiaRelations #FloodRelief #SolidarityInCrisis #DisasterResponse

Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths has allocated $13.5 million from the United Nations OCHA-managed Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) to respond to the historic droughts affecting over 30 million people in Southern Africa, as the #ElNiño crisis continues to worsen extreme weather events worldwide. This allocation will help humanitarians respond to people's needs in the most vulnerable areas of Angola, Malawi, Zambia & Zimbabwe, providing food, cash, irrigation systems and drought-resistant seeds. This allocation raises the total amount provided to confront the El Niño crisis globally to more than $60 million. Together, we #InvestInHumanity
