♻️ Closed-Loop Success Story ♻️ As part of our ongoing commitment to a closed-loop economy, we are pleased to announce that our partnership with Protec International Ltd has resulted in the remanufacturing of 51,388 ProplexRE sheets since the start of 2024. The recently issued "Certificate of Recycling" for the year-to-date 2024 highlights the achievements of the ongoing partnership and the success of our closed-loop recycling initiative, aimed at reducing waste and minimising environmental impact. Powerday collects, processes and stores the waste products, which are then returned to Protec to be reused in the manufacture of new products. This continuous cycle preserves natural resources by significantly reducing the need for virgin materials. New Integrated Waste Facility Announced for Goshen, Oregon 🇺🇸 Lane County is set to elevate its waste management strategy with the Integrated Material and Energy Recovery Facility (IMERF), a state-of-the-art facility engineered to optimize waste diversion and recycling ♻ 💡 Facility Highlights: Construction: Begins 2024, operational by late 2025. Capabilities: Processes waste to extract recyclables and produce biogas. Diversion: Aims to divert 80,000 tons of landfill waste annually. 👍 Projected Benefits: Environmental: Significant greenhouse gas emission reduction. Economic: Creation of local jobs and an estimated $270 million in economic impact. Sustainability: Extends landfill life and improves recycling rates. 💲 Investment & Costs: Total cost: $150 million, shared between Lane County and Bulk Handling Systems. ♻️ BeZero’s carbon ratings team have assessed more than half of the projects in the Waste Reduction & Recycling sector, by outstanding credit issuance. These projects issue avoidance credits by recovering and recycling materials in municipal solid waste and processing them into reusable products, displacing emissions generated by the manufacturing of products derived from virgin materials. Credits may also be issued for the avoidance of methane emissions if the recycled material is organic and would have been disposed of at a solid waste disposal site.
