Electrification startups are leading the charge in #climatech investments, according to a report by Dealroom.co and SAP. They captured 62% of climate tech funding between 2019 and 2024. $10 billion has been allocated to European EV batteries since 2021. 69% of European renewables VC funding has gone to solar energy since 2021. There’s been a 17x increase in VC funding for European industrial electrification since 2020. While marine&wave energy generation have seen less investment, the private venture capital landscape remains vibrant. Even as traditional investments in the energy transition slow down, there is still abundant funding for groundbreaking ideas in electrification.

Long duration energy storage startup, Form Energy, “has now raised more than $1.2 billion to date, making it one of the top-funded players in the space.” Congrats on achieving this milestone, Form Energy! On the back of a $405 million Series F financing round, the company is looking to accelerate the expansion of its 100-hour iron-air battery system manufacturing in the US. The startup’s latest funding round, led by T. Rowe Price, has also seen GE Vernova as a new investor.
