Reflecting on my experience #thecharity conference2024# collaboration with @lightbulb_consults, I can confidently say it was truly life-changing. This event launched me into deep self-reflection on what clarity means to me. To me, clarity is about understanding what is hidden within and knowing how to implement it to impact lives while still generating profits. The conference featured wonderful speakers who emphasized the importance of making conscious decisions. GUSI TOBBY and Hon. Justice Mabel T. Segun-Bello delivered insightful talks that exposed me to new perspectives. Gusi Toby highlighted a critical distinction between socializing and networking, underscoring that: • Dominant manifestation is crucial. • Socializing helps you build connections; from these relationships, networking becomes more effortless. • Life introduces you to people who are part of your journey: the starters, the vision executors, and the finishers. Each has a role to play at different stages of your life. • Always choose collaboration over competition to foster healthier relationships. • Prioritize socializing over networking. Hon. Justice Mabel T. Segun-Bello the keynote speaker, offered life-changing insights that will forever resonate with me: 1. The importance of effective prayer, regardless of religion. 2. Conditions, whether imposed by life or individuals, are powerful but can be overcome. 3. Your decisions hold more power than your current conditions. 4. Guided mentorship is essential; you cannot become somebody without learning from others. As a Human Resource Manager, I was particularly moved by the emphasis on storytelling. “Shine: Why You Should Tell Your Stories” made me realize how connecting with others through stories can help one emerge from their shell. The answers from Salem King ELIJAH AFFI (ARPA, FIMC, CMC) , and other speakers highlighted the importance of craftsmanship in whatever you do. I left this conference feeling fulfilled and without regrets. My heartfelt thanks go to Atuzie Favour Tuzzi @Light Bulb Consult, and everyone who brought this vision to life.

Ugh, it’s only (me or) a few of us at this event. How many times have you said this and left? I used to feel weird about these spaces. Shift: You belong there too. Why not? (If it’s not safe, pivot or don’t go.) Now, I leverage these spaces for deeper impact, influence, inclusion convos and income. Here are 3 don’ts to consider: 1. Don’t only attend events where everyone can relate to your experiences and visa versa. 2. Don’t only attend events within your industry (decision makers and partnerships are wide) 3. Don’t shrink yourself and assume that your thought leadership isn’t needed or welcomed Sure, the event organizers should be unsettled. This is the reality and time to advocate or avoid. P.S. Let me level with you. The life of a speaker involves a great deal of alone time - in cars, trams, trains, and planes. After years surrounded by colleagues, I have never got totally used to those hours of solitude. My greatest joy comes when I meet an audience face on. It takes but a moment to engage an audience. You have a clear purpose - to inspire, to break through barriers, to leave an indelible thought, to shift mindsets. Those hours alone have been worth it. What I love are those comments fed back to the organisers - they are reflective. That counts for so much. Two weeks ago, I spoke at a large #housingconference. As you read this post, you will only see: ➺ 250 words. ➺ But there were uncountable thoughts that led to it! When you see a combat photo of me, you will only see: ➺ A person in a uniform. ➺ But there are innumerable struggles hiding under the camo! When you see a successful business-person, you will only see: ➺ the media headlines and rankings. ➺ But there were uncountable losses along the road that almost made them quit! What is my point? ➺ We only truly SEE 1% of everything we see. ➺ So we end up celebrating that 1% part. ➺ Because that's the only visible part. Which means, ➺ Those we admire on linkedin are not wiser than those who never showed up. ➺ Those who made it through SEAL training are not worthier than those who didn't. ➺ And those we celebrate in business aren't better than those who went bankrupt. It's a counter-intuitive logic, ➺ But when you take a closer look at it… ➺ The event doesn’t make the man, ➺ The PROCESS does! The event is just a public recognition of the process. ➺ But because the media will always celebrate the event alone. ➺ We have lost sight of the fact that the process is what matters more. ➺ So, remember that when next you feel crushed that it hasn't happened for you... yet. And celebrate yourself... YOU are the process! P.S: This alone has transformed my approach to life and built my resilience, It can do the same for you too. There is something I want to rant about. I may not be 100% correct, but, I want you to just hear me out. Correct me too if I am wrong. I have noticed it among many people who host conferences. Here is the thing..... I think it's absolutely wrong to fix a paid event on your birthday. If you host an event, and it is paid, do not fix the date on your birthday, anniversary or any personal celebration. If you want to do such, let the event be free. This way, we know you are giving back to the society. But, people shouldn't pay for a conference and you are trying to celebrate yoursel. Remember, it's their money and attention. Learn to remove your person from your brand. It's very important for scalability. #thesalesguru
