👉 Last week, we had the privilege of attending a fantastic nativity play at Margaret Roper's Catholic Primary School! A huge well done to all the children who performed, filling the room with festive joy. 🌟 But that’s not all...the school community has been fundraising to support our work in the community. We’re excited to announce the total soon so stay tuned! 🎁🎉 A heartfelt thank you to the students and staff at Margaret Roper's for being such wonderful Croydon Champions ❤️🌟

Did you know that 40% of 11 year-olds in England from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school unable to read to the expected standard? Through Chapter One, a number of my Mishcon de Reya LLP colleagues and I are volunteering online for 30 minutes a week to help disadvantaged children improve their reading skills. It's fun and rewarding and easy to fit into my working week. chapterone.org #volunteersweek #chapteronevolunteer #employeevolunteering
18,000 hours… That’s how much time our amazing volunteers have spent providing online reading support this school year - meaning they have read with children for a whole two years collectively since last September! Today is the beginning of Volunteers’ Week 2024 (3-9 June), when Chapter One joins thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK. For Chapter One, the week is a real celebration of our 2,700 online reading volunteers and the impact they have on the future of young readers all over the UK. Week in, week out, they are developing fundamental reading skills and inspiring a love for reading from an early age, helping to build confidence in children who might otherwise slip through the cracks. Emma Bell, Chapter One CEO has a special message for all of our amazing volunteers 👇 Read more: https://lnkd.in/ed8dFEUR #ChapterOne #itallstartswithliteracy #employeewellbeing #socialvalue #socialimpact #socialmobility #literacy #corporatepartnerships #corporatevolunteering #volunteersweek
