The ReefTO Taskforce has three objectives! Today, we're highlighting the first. Honouring the decades of work by Elders to assert their cultural authority and rights to sea country and driving genuine partnerships across the Reef, ReefTO is empowering Reef Traditional Owners through the Taskforce to shape the future of the Reef and its interconnected Country. It's #WATONDAY, a day created by IALA not too long ago. 🌊 Did you know that not all lighthouses serve the same purpose? Wikipedia describes lighthouses as navigational aids for maritime pilots at sea or on inland waterways. However, some have a unique history, like the one in this video. Built in 1909, this lighthouse was a publicity stunt to promote Goulet champagne. It would light up at night, illuminating the surrounding vineyards. 🌟 I discovered this one during my last holiday in the Champagne region of France, Verzenay.
