It has been such an amazing journey. What can I say? >>> Beautiful people believed in me and my potential. >>> My innate nature to serve humanity met with the golden opportunity offered by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) >>> And, I found my purpose, fulfillment and self-actualization. I pay back by giving my very all as a professional while on the field, attending to people affected by disaster, disease, conflict and exclusion in various contexts. As a body of people driven by the conviction that human beings ae entitled to the same rights no matter their race, creed, religion, or political affiliation, we have been making that positive change around the globe for over 50 years. What do you know about MSF? Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international emergency medical humanitarian organization founded by doctors and journalists in 1971. Our teams go where people’s needs are greatest to provide neutral, impartial, and independent emergency healthcare to people affected by disaster, disease, conflict and exclusion. MSF also bears witness, amplifying patient and staff experiences and speaking out to bring abuses and intolerable situations to the public eye. Around 68,000 people work for MSF in over 77 countries. More than 80 per cent of our staff are hired in the countries in which we work. We offer basic healthcare, perform surgery, address epidemics, rehabilitate and run hospitals and clinics, carry out vaccination campaigns, operate nutrition centres, provide mental healthcare and offer training to local medical staff. We work with communities and often in support of local health authorities. Human connections are at the heart of our work, and our medical staff are able to offer care to people in need of assistance thanks to a vast network of staff and supporters. Our Principles? 1. Impartiality 2. Neutrality 3. Independence 4. Medical Ethics Special thanks to Amna Haji , CIPM,HRBP

In recent news, the Saudi government's decision to send back almost a hundred Pakistani nurses has caused concern and debate in the medical community. According to a private news channel, the deportation of 92 Pakistani nurses was due to alleged data falsification. Sources suggest that the Saudi consulate has hinted at a potential permanent ban on Pakistani nurses, which could have significant implications for the Pakistani medical workforce in Saudi Arabia. This development is particularly noteworthy given the large number of Pakistani nationals, especially medical professionals, who work in Saudi Arabia in various roles. The effects of this incident could be far-reaching and affect the broader Pakistani medical community working in Saudi Arabia. It is worth mentioning that only last November, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) included Pakistani nurses in its Golden Visa program, providing them with the opportunity to live, work, and study in the UAE with exclusive benefits. As conversations continue regarding the recent events in Saudi Arabia, attention remains focused on the impact on Pakistani healthcare professionals in the region. #saudiarabia #pakistani #pakistan #nurses #doctors #healthcare #banned #news

The Unsung Heroes: Challenges Faced by Paramedics in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 When we think about the healthcare system, we often overlook one of the most critical roles – the paramedics. These frontline responders are there in some of life’s most crucial, high-pressure moments, bringing hope and care when it’s needed most. In Saudi Arabia, paramedics face unique challenges that make their role even more demanding. 🚑 Long Distances and Harsh Climates: Saudi Arabia’s vast landscapes and sometimes extreme weather conditions mean paramedics often drive long distances through desert heat or adverse conditions. This takes a toll on both personnel and equipment, adding to the physical demands of an already intense job. 💼 Heavy Workload and Limited Resources: The growing population, especially in cities like Riyadh and Jeddah, increases the demand for emergency services. Paramedics often have limited resources or delayed access to advanced facilities, meaning they must rely on their expertise and make critical decisions under pressure. 💔 Psychological Impact: Witnessing trauma day after day is incredibly difficult, and the mental health resources available to paramedics are often limited. The support systems needed to help them process these experiences are still developing, meaning many paramedics manage their psychological burdens largely on their own. 👨👩👧 Social Perception and Support: While the role of a paramedic is respected, there’s often less visibility and understanding of what their work entails. Unlike other healthcare professionals, paramedics operate in the field, often without the acknowledgment or societal support they deserve. Let’s take a moment to recognize the courage and commitment of these professionals. As Saudi Arabia continues to develop and modernize its healthcare system, let’s hope that paramedics receive the resources, support, and recognition they need to continue their life-saving work. #HealthcareHeroes #Paramedics #SaudiArabia #EmergencyServices #MentalHealth #Support

Just came across a video of an American nurse sharing why she was fired from her job in Saudi Arabia. If what she says is true, it highlights a significant need for training and development across the board. From the recruiters who reportedly told her she was being hired as a Westerner to challenge doctors' orders because of a perceived lack of critical thinking in the hospitals, to the doctors who could benefit from training on teamwork and collaboration, and to the nurses brought over from other countries who need to understand their roles in the hierarchy—there's room for improvement. It's crucial that nurses know how to respectfully disagree with doctors, ensuring patient safety without overstepping boundaries. Training on the etiquette of challenging authority, understanding cultural dynamics, and effective communication could prevent scenarios like this from escalating. There are ways to foster an environment where collaboration thrives while maintaining the respect and roles of each team member. What are your thoughts on implementing more comprehensive training programs in healthcare settings?
