Nothing beats a delicious dessert—especially when someone else bakes it for you! Last week, Rendevor Dialysis was thrilled to kick off the holiday season with our new post-acute partner, the Villages of Lake Highlands | Dallas Senior Living, at their annual Thanksgiving Pie Event. Case managers and social workers from Texas Health Resources, Medical City Healthcare, Baylor Scott & White Health, and other healthcare organizations stopped by to grab a freshly made pie and a bottle of wine—just in time for their holiday festivities! Apple beat out pumpkin as the most-requested pie. Our very own Ben Williams, VP of Business Development, was on-site to offer personalized tours of Rendevor's six-seat dialysis den, where we’ll soon be bringing comfort and care to the next level in a home-like environment. Pictured below is Ben with Aaron Gaddis, Medical City Dallas, and Tonya Dozier, At Home Personal Care. Sandra Spurrier with Villages of Lake Highlands presents a pie to Antoinette Jones of Medical City Dallas. Here’s to building sweet partnerships, one slice at a time! #HealthcareHeroes #PostAcuteDialysis #SkilledNursingDialysis #DFW

Glad to see this baby friendly designation. What does baby friendly mean? It means the nurses, ob, midwives, and all staff have been trained to be supportive and educated on breastfeeding. No formula marketing is allowed. Formula as medically necessary and required is on board, but no predatory marketing or “free samples” allowed. Statically, keeping a “just in case” sample can of formula reduced the rates and duration of breastfeeding. It’s good business for formula companies to give away the first can. But it can erode your confidence in your ability to breastfeed. “Infant survival The WHO estimates that breastfeeding could save over 820,000 children under five years old each year.” WHO stands for World Health Organization. #protectyourgoals #breastfeedingmatters #maternalhealth
Hats off to Hancock Health Regional Hospital in Greenfield, Indiana, for being re-designated Baby-Friendly! What a great way to start the New Year! #ProudToBeBabyFriendly

Making visits to connect with our team and clients in person is such an invaluable benefit for all parties. It's where learning, collaboration, and building trust combine. We're all in it for the same purpose - improving patient/ member outcomes! What are some practices you or your organization have in place to strengthen client and/or employee relationships and foster collaboration?
I had the pleasure of having Rely Health’s Dream Team join me onsite in CHI Mercy Health’s Emergency Department this week. Thank you Prithvi, L'Sidni, and Alex. Your diligence implementing enhancements to the AI Tool is invaluable! It will increase the number of post-ED patients we reach to provide exemplary navigation services to follow-up care and resources. I look forward to this process because it allows me more time for in-person patient engagement to ensure their post ED journey to improved health is met. I’m excited to exceed Umpqua Health’s metrics as well as my goals! 🌹

#CountdownToOneHundred - On September 15, 2024 Hendrick Health will celebrate a century of caring for our community. To help commemorate this milestone - I will be counting down and sharing 10 things that make Hendrick special. #1 - Our Opportunities for the Future 100 years ago today, Hendrick Health (then West Texas Baptist Sanitarium) opened its doors and allowed 1,200 visitors to tour the hospital. They visited with doctors & nurses, checked out the 52 patient rooms and viewed demonstrations of new state-of-the-art equipment. As the visitors strolled the hallways, they marveled at what this facility - filled with caring experts and the latest technology - could mean for them and for their families' future healthcare journeys. And here, 100 years later, Hendrick is still filled with doctors, nurses and state-of-the-art equipment that is ready to respond to needs of our community. And as important as the past 100 years have been, Hendrick Health's best days are ahead. With major plans for growth to respond to the needs of our neighbors and to our region - the future is full of opportunities to continue to offer excellent and compassionate healthcare that is close to home. Today is the start of a new century. A new century of living out our mission to "deliver high quality healthcare emphasizing excellence and compassion consistent with the healing ministry of Jesus Christ." True yesterday. True Today. True Tomorrow. #hendrick100 #future #NextSteps #BestIsYetToCome #SecondCenturyVision

The Holiday Weekend As we are entering the Memorial Holiday weekend in the States, I would like to extend my thanks and encouragement to all my pharmacy colleagues who will be serving their patients and communities over this long weekend. There will likely be a few situations that you have to deal with which most people will not understand. I can recall one such weekend where on a Saturday morning when a patient called me who was visiting from out of town. Within about 3 sentences, her voice went from upbeat and chipper to all out tears as she admitted she came to town to visit family and left her medicine at home over 200 miles away. She knew only the most general things about her medicines. For example, she knew the ballpark name of her medications, but not the dose or frequency. (“I take something for blood pressure that starts with an ‘L’ and it may be 20/25mg?”) My next few hours were set as I was now on a safari to figure these things out. Once the situation was figured out, the patient expressed great gratitude. The thing is, far too few people know what a pharmacy is like on a weekend like this. Your boss likely doesn’t know and may not even want to know. But we know the adventures that await us on long holiday weekends. To that end, allow me to share my thanks to you and your team for serving over this holiday weekend. You make such a big difference in people’s lives. If you have any good stories over the weekend, my inbox is open. I would love to hear your stories and celebrate your service. #forpharmacy #forpharmacists #pharmacists #pharmacyleadership #leadwell #EveryoneDeservesToBeLedWell #KeepPharmacistsImproving
