Reading this brought tears to my eyes. It's incredibly touching to see companies prioritize and uplift their employees, especially women who are juggling the responsibilities of both career and family. This genuine gesture serves as a powerful reminder that every woman deserves to be acknowledged, valued, and supported in her professional pursuits, particularly during significant moments like maternity leave. However, it's disheartening to recognize that not all workplaces extend such compassion and understanding to expectant mothers. There often exists a noticeable gap between the promises made and the actions taken when it comes to supporting mothers-to-be. Let this serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for all companies to prioritize support, inclusivity, and genuine care for their employees, regardless of their parental status. May this inspire more companies to create environments where both motherhood and career growth are valued and supported. 💚#actionsspeaklouderthanwords #workingmoms

It was our designer’s last day before maternity leave. So I promoted her. Why? Because she earned it. And despite the fact that she was about to leave for six months she deserved to go have her third baby knowing we see and value her work, we appreciate her absolute ride or die energy for the company, and that we will be eagerly awaiting her return. Sure, we could have waited for her to return this summer for the raise to hit the payroll, but pregnant women should not be punished in their careers for also being mothers. You can grow your family and advance your career at the same time— and for Kelly Kinnaird— it happened on the same day ✨ . I’m so proud to work alongside this absolute gem from Birmingham, Alabama (of all places!) who joined us a contractor and is now a lifer. Here’s a pic of her on our promotion call—> three hours later she went into labor and had a healthy baby boy! All in a days work at Bobbie 💚 #workingmoms #remotework #paidleave #maternityleave #parentalleave

Can you feel the shift? Paid Leave is uniquely an American problem and parents are demanding better support. We're proud to welcome Tan France to the conversation-- as a queer, two-time surrogate dad and immigrant-- he is officially joining Bobbie's advocacy efforts to use his voice as a new dad and his platform as a celebrity to push for Paid Leave for all parents in the US. Not only are we proud to have fed both of his boys since day one, but we're proud to have him join the movement in this election year to get loud about passing The FAMILY Act alongside Chamber of Mothers, Moms First, and Paid Leave for All and our friends at Glamour (s/o to the paid leave warrior Natasha Pearlman). This is where we spend our marketing dollars at Bobbie-- sharing parents' stories, making positive impact on society as a whole, and hopefully leaving it better than how we found it. Imagine if every new parent celeb and every brand who serves them did the same? ✊ Send a letter to your lawmaker here (we've made it radically simple for you to do): www.parentspushharder.com

Kudos to #HUL on leading the next generation of #HR policies today. Falling fertility rates, ageing population is the reality of India that will only grow in the years to follow. Policies like these not only show the fact that companies and their leadership understand these realities but also care enough to do something about it today. #India #progressive #policies #pto #askhr

Last week, we launched HUL’s Foster and Kinship Caregiver Leave Policy- our latest effort to build an inclusive and equitable workplace. We are extending our care philosophy to cater to diverse familial arrangements. This industry-first program recognizes the importance of supporting all family structures. Employees fostering a child or acting as a legal guardian can now access 4 weeks of leave – available to caregivers of all genders. This, combined with our existing 20+ equitable policies, empowers employees to manage personal and professional commitments with flexibility and takes us one step closer to building a more equitable and supportive workplace for all. 📢 The Paternity Leave (Bereavement) Act 2024 received Royal Assent on the last day of the current Parliament, May 24, 2024, granting working fathers and non-birthing partners automatic rights to immediate paternity leave if the mother dies. This significant legislation ensures that bereaved fathers or non-birthing partners will automatically receive day-one paternity leave in the unfortunate event of the mother’s death or when a child is placed or expected to be placed for adoption, removing the current requirement for 26 weeks' continuous service. The date for implementation hasn't been announced yet, but relevant policies will need to be updated once it is. #employmentlaw #employmentlawupdates #ukemploymentlaw #humanresources Emma Williams Fran Boast Karen Dowse MCIPD Liz Johnston Nishma Patel Jackie McTait Nicky Sheppard
