🍃 To meet EU environmental goals while maintianing an up-and-running #roadtransport system, the sector needs proper #CO2standards for heavy-duty vehicles, with realistic deadlines for scaling up zero-emission vehicles, and a fair chance for vehicles running on low-carbon fuels. The #IRUManifesto advances practical targets based on available technologies. Here's how MEPs can help the sector #decarbonise efficiently ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ewKREGw5 #DriveEUforward

No matter what, fleet electrification is a win-win situation! If you switch your internal combustine engine (ICE) vehicle to a battery electric one (BEV), you'll realize *carbon gain*, based on a so-called *avoided state* - that is, if you kept using your old vehicle, you'd keep emitting greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. You can then turn this carbon gain into carbon credits that you can sell on the Voluntary Carbon Market. Sounds interesting? Learn more about how we can help you (post)finance your fleet electrification! https://hubs.ly/Q02DVW-Q0 #Electromobility #CarbonCredits #SustainableMobility #mitigia #ESGCompliance

Are you curious as to what the CARB Omnibus Regulation is all about? The CARB Omnibus regulation, officially known as the Advanced Clean Cars II #ACC_II package, refers to a set of comprehensive emissions standards and regulations developed by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) aimed at significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles. This regulation encompasses various aspects of vehicle emissions, including: 1. **Tightened Emissions Standards**: The Omnibus regulation introduces stricter standards for greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants from passenger vehicles, aiming to decrease overall emissions over time. 2. **Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Requirements**: It expands requirements for automakers to produce and sell a higher percentage of zero-emission vehicles, promoting the shift toward electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles. 3. **Long-term Planning**: The regulation establishes a roadmap for future emissions reductions, aligning with California's broader climate goals and commitments to reduce air pollution. 4. **Equity and Access**: CARB also emphasizes ensuring that ZEVs are accessible to all communities, addressing environmental justice concerns. The Omnibus regulation reflects California's leadership in climate policy and serves as a potential model for other states, including #Washington, as they seek to implement similar measures to combat climate change and improve air quality.

Joint call for an EU #vehicle #eco-score to support the industrial transition As the new #European #Commission takes office, we (Transport & Environment (T&E)) join forces with BEUC - The European Consumer Organisation Deutsche Umwelthilfe and Institut Mobilités en Transition to call the EU Commission to adopt an #harmonised EU-wide vehicle eco-score. By focusing on the #carbon #footprint of key components (batteries, steel, aluminum) and energy efficiency, the eco-score rewards cars with lower environmental impact. This is key to support the #transition of the #automotive #industry to cleaner #materials and production. Why now❓ With the EU Commission committed to a #Clean #Industrial #Deal to complement the Green Deal, it should act and include the eco-score in their work program. Benefits of the eco-score❓ ⚡ Speed & simplicity: Easy implementation across the EU 🏛️ Single market: Prevents fragmented national approaches (cf France’s eco-score) 📊 Consumer info: Informs consumer decisions, eg via the car labelling 💶 Fiscal policy integration: Integrate into national fiscal policies 🏭 Industrial policy: Rewards 'Made in EU’ cars made with lower carbon materials and clean energy. 💚 🔦 A final green light? On 10 April, the European Parliament will vote on the regulation on CO2 standard for #HDVs. ✍ In support of its approval, AVERE has co-signed a letter with other transport organisations and industry stakeholders. 🚛 What will this piece of legislation mean? Mainly, more uptake of clean trucks! This goes hand in hand with more investor trust, along with a decrease of technology costs and vehicle prices. 🍀 We call for members of the European Parliament to support the deal that has been approved, therefore excluding any further delays! A swift adoption means swifter investment necessary for our climate and economy!
