Two more will be released this year and more resources latter in the year for 2023-2024. We are contining to improve our communication and balance information about how appropriate regulation happens for the Territory context.

Water system upgrades in the USA could require more than a staggering $1.2 trillion over the next 20 years. According to the latest Clean Watersheds Needs Survey by the EPA, approximately $630 billion will be needed to meet the goals of the Clean Water Act, while the Drinking Water Infrastructure Needs Survey highlights an additional $625 billion to maintain and improve drinking water systems. The need for investment is particularly pressing in states like California, New York, Florida, Virginia, Louisiana, and Georgia, which together account for 42% of the national total. This webinar is titled “Long-Term Vision to Fight Advancing Water Resource Challenges – Todd Creek WWTP Design.” FREE to all AAEES Members. $40 fee for non-members. https://lnkd.in/g2Db4Mzd Webinar Summary The 60-year old Todd Creek Wastewater Treatment plant was experiencing challenges from aging infrastructure, growth and development in the watershed, changes to the facilities’ water quality permit, and impacts from updated flood mapping in the regions.  These drivers caused the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and the entity that manages its water, KC Water, to determine that it would need a new wastewater treatment plant.  As project leader of the cross-functional team supporting the effort, Burns & McDonnell developed the project in a way that reduces land use, minimizes energy and chemical consumption versus traditional approaches, and will produce a cleaner, more environmentally friendly effluent. The $96 million Todd Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is being designed to treat up to 4.6 million gallons per day, using a first-of-its kind treatment technology for the State of Missouri.  By improving the effluent water quality, the project will create more opportunities for outdoor recreation and parks, further supporting the community’s booming development while managing natural resources.   This webinar will provide information on drivers for this project, many of which are common challenges for water utilities across the country, and describe how the project team evaluated solutions and developed the design for this new advanced facility.
