A recent assessment by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Chesapeake Bay Program highlights ongoing #challenges and new opportunities for the #restoration of the bay. The report indicates that more than two-thirds of the bay and its tidal rivers and streams did not meet #cleanwater standards between 2020 and 2022, despite some improvements from previous years. That same report also reveals that many states aren't on track to meet the 2025 #pollution-#reduction commitments. Wonderful news from Arizona as Native American tribes reach a water rights settlement with the federal government, a deal that was decades in the making. The agreement highlights how important resource sharing, community building, and shared prosperity are in the face of global resource shortages. As the planet continually warms and is impacted by severe weather events, cooperation and conciliation are essential ingredients for a prosperous future.
