The 2024 grazing season is going to require a different approach. How do you plan to manage heavier covers at turnout? How are you changing and adapting your first / second rotation to mitigate for the wet weather? Is on / off grazing an option to get started earlier, or is pre mowing an option, with early silage cuts a good choice to reset the growth stage as you enter the first / second rotation? If you or your customers are unsure how to develop, manage and create a grazing plan for 2024, or are looking for ways to utilise more forage in the diet to cut feed costs, help manage and improve swards to mitigate unpredictable climates, then get in touch for advice. #morefromgrass #grazingmanagement

This week Pasturetec, in conjunction with Sean Chubb, Consultant from LIC hosted an on farm event looking at planning for the 2024 grazing season, how to mitigate and manage the wet start to the season and considerations around costs, reseeding and SFI options. It’s been a challenging Winter and a different approach to the 2024 grazing season will be required to manage heavier covers for livestock coming out of a relatively warm, but wet winter, where covers could be heading above 3000kg/dm per H/A, particularly for those who have not managed to complete their first rotation, of which there are many. If you or your clients would benefit from a grazing management input, advice or support, get in touch with the Pasturetec Team. #grazingmanagement #morefromgrass #pasturetec
