Cricket, like Sales, is unpredictable. India being bowled out for just 46 reminds me that even the best teams can have an off day. But what matters is how you bounce back. In Sales we face setbacks too—missed targets, lost deals, or forecast failures. But one bad quarter doesn’t define us, just like one bad match doesn’t define a great team. It’s all about learning, adapting, and coming back stronger. So, whether on the cricket field or in the sales field, resilience is key. What’s your strategy for bouncing back after a tough day? #Leadership #Resilience #SalesLessons #CricketAndBusiness Pic Credit: Sky Sports

India Vs Ban - 2nd Test Match - What's in it for us in Business and Sales. Many may have forgotten that this match was even scheduled, thanks to 2.5 days of no play due to the weather. WHAT was beyond the Indian team’s control? Nature. WHAT did they decide to do the moment they knew play could resume? WIN the match and the series. WHY aim for victory when the odds were stacked against ? Because they knew themselves. They had unshakable conviction that if they stood together and gave their all, they could shape the outcome. HOW did they pull off a feat that will be etched in cricket history? The PLAN was simple: bowl out the opposition as quickly as possible and score runs even faster. Simple in theory, yes—but the hardest STRATEGIES to execute are often the simplest ones. It takes immense courage, grit, and resilience to deliver extraordinary, unexpected results. The coach and captain laid out the strategy, everyone added their insight, and then they attacked together, full throttle. They broke the challenge into smaller, manageable pieces, analyzed every detail, and relentlessly pushed forward. Even when wickets kept falling, they kept the run rate high, staying focused and undeterred. In less than two days—under 180 overs—many records were shattered. But this was not the triumph of ONE player; it was the victory of a UNITED TEAM. The room wasn’t just filled with individual talent; it was smarter, stronger together. HOW did they ensure everyone contributed? They shared a single, clear vision. The leaders galvanized the team’s energy toward one collective goal, and the result was nothing short of spectacular. This victory not only fulfilled them but fueled their hunger to achieve even more as a team. This performance stands as a beacon of inspiration to aspiring cricketers and nations alike, demonstrating what’s possible when a group moves as one. And isn’t this exactly what we, as business and sales leaders, should strive for? The True Power Of Collaboration. See where Rohit is and who is holding the trophy.

Champions are made not in the limelight but in the shadows of practice. Take the recent example of R. Ashwin, India's star spinner. For the past year, he wasn't a regular in the playing XI, sitting on the bench. But yesterday, in the Test match against Bangladesh, he delivered a masterclass—scoring a century with the bat and taking 6 wickets with the ball. What was Ashwin doing during that time off the field? He was practicing, refining his craft. His preparation behind the scenes was the key to his outstanding performance when it truly mattered. This is a powerful lesson not just in sports but in our professional lives too. Success is not an overnight achievement; it’s the result of constant, focused effort when no one is watching. In #sales, the process is no different. You can aim to become a Sales Director or reach the top in any field, but to truly excel, you must embrace the grind—day in, day out. The wins you see in public are the result of countless hours spent learning, improving, and mastering the fundamentals. 📌Love the process, trust the practice, and the results will follow. #success #process #motivation #leadership #cricket

It's not about the best talent; it's about team culture and the captain's comfort in team selection based on team dynamics and strategic management decisions that mostly lead to success. Management's long-term vision, even if it means enduring short-term setbacks, is where the true value of leadership shines. 💡 Take, for example, the current Indian Cricket team for the T20 World Cup. Despite perceptions of being out of form, these players are seasoned professionals in the international arena. Questions may arise about player selection, but the captain's confidence, comfort and team cohesion are key. 🏏🇮🇳 Similarly, the Mumbai Indians decision to select Hardik Pandya as #captain for the IPL reflects a long-term strategy. They aim for a seamless transition with the existing team, focusing on sustained success rather than immediate wins. 🏆 Exceptionally talented players like Bumrah hold a unique position. Their inclusion is based not just on team culture or dynamics but on their extraordinary abilities. Integrating new talent into a top-tier team takes time and patience. ⏳ #Hope #Opportunity #TransformationTuesday #TuesdayThoughts #GivingTuesday #ThankfulTuesday #TeamCulture #Leadership #Cricket #IndianCricketTeam #T20WorldCup #MumbaiIndians #IPL #HardikPandya #Bumrah #TeamDynamics #StrategicManagement #SoftwareDevelopment #OffshoreDevelopment #StaffAugmentation 🚀💻🌐 #Vision4Success #VisionForSuccess

I consider myself a hardcore cricket fan 🏏 , and I not only enjoy watching 📺 it but also an observant on how both mental and physical resilience play a pivotal role in a team’s success. Over the last couple of months, I have been following the IPL, which is one of the most popular franchise sport leagues in India. Ten teams compete in competitive cricket, yielding only one champion. As I was closely observing each team, I realized that it gave me a valuable leadership lesson: 'Sustainable Leadership'. Context: In the case of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), it's a story of transformation under Gautam Gambhir's stewardship. Despite being underdogs, Gambhir's leadership infused the team with a newfound sense of purpose and unity. It's akin to the lion finally stepping in to guide the herd of goats, elevating their game and igniting hope among fans. On the flip side, Mumbai Indians (MI) represent a cautionary tale of the consequences of leadership misalignment. Despite their star-studded lineup and resources, a hasty decision to experiment with captaincy backfired spectacularly. Removing a respected leader like Rohit Sharma and replacing him with someone lacking the necessary qualities led to discord within the team. It's as if a pride of lions found themselves following a misguided goat, resulting in disarray and a plummet down the standings. Sharing My 2 cents Knowledge: "Sustainable Leadership" refers to a style of leadership that focuses on long-term success, growth, and stability while considering the well-being of all stakeholders involved. This approach emphasizes ethical decision-making, fostering a positive work culture, and empowering team members to reach their full potential. Leaders who practice sustainable leadership prioritize environmental, social, and economic sustainability, ensuring that their actions have a positive impact on both the organization and the wider community. #Leadeship #sustainability

The End of an Era. 2 Captains. 10 Trophies. But, this change has created the hardest jobs in cricket for 2 people… Yesterday was a bittersweet moment. No longer will we see the most successful IPL captains lead their men in yellow and blue. We will miss Dhoni, for his ice cool calm and strategic brilliance. And, Rohit’s outstanding man management skills. The hardest job (arguably) in cricket will be for the new captains - Hardik Pandya and Rituraj Gaikwad. They inherit the expectation of success. And, it’s not like the predecessors have retired. They now have to captain the most successful captains ever. It’s not easy for either of the parties. If Dhoni sees Rituraj going wrong - should he step in and stop the mistake. How much should Hardik lean on Rohit and how much should he do independently? This season is about walking on a tightrope. And, it needs to be managed with care and precision because it can go either way. I’d say it’s almost like a founder selling their equity in a company but staying for the handover period 😂 . You want to ensure your legacy is intact but, you have to give the new leader their own space to implement a new way forward. The onus lies with the management, the 4 individuals and the fans (to give them some space). As with every season of the IPL - there’s a story within a story. It's carnival but there’s also big business and crunch time for marketers. It’s my favorite time of the year. And, as always I’ll be sharing parallels and corollaries here. Let’s go MI 🏏! Who do you support? #ipl #leadership #cricket #india

🤔Quick question: ⏳Can a Brand ever overpower a Company? ✅ If yes, then: Who is bigger Virat Kohli or BCCI or even for that matter the whole franchise of Royal Challengers Bengaluru? ✍🏻 (P. S. Ashneer Grover once mentioned how he wanted to onboard Virat Kohli for one of his Marketing campaigns, and instead landed up signing 11 other players of the Indian Cricket Team. Why? Virat's accumulated Brand Value summed double than the brand values of 11 other cricketers!) 🥶 👨🏻💻 In my opinion, basic Marketing theories can be covered with traditional 4Ps of Product, Place, Price, Promotion. ✅ But in reality all these dimensions intersect each other in many ways and in the end it's always like RCB's winning probabilities. Unpredictable. 😅 Your thoughts? 💭 (Image courtesy: Ashneer Grover ) #brandvalue #brandunderstanding #ipl #bcci #company #sharktank

Leadership Lessons from Cricket Why Teams Like Mumbai Indians & Gujarat Titans Are Losing ?? Let's talk cricket, folks! Beyond the thrill of sixes and close finishes, there's a whole drama about leaders and how they steer their teams. Take Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans, for example. Both used to rule the cricket field, but now they're struggling to keep up, even though they've got almost the same squad. So, what's the deal? Well, it's all about leadership change and how you manage it. Mumbai Indians had Hardik Pandya leading the charge, but suddenly things went south. And Gujarat Titans? They passed the leadership baton to Shubman Gill, but it didn't quite work out like before. Why? Because changing leaders isn't as simple as swapping jerseys. Look at M. S. Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Dhoni, the master strategist, didn't just hand over the captaincy to Kohli overnight. Nah, he groomed him, mentored him, and then gradually let him take the reins. That's how you do it! Mumbai Indians could've learned a thing or two from that playbook. Instead of bringing in someone new, they should've looked within their own ranks. Rohit Sharma, the star player, could've been the bridge between old and new leadership. But nope, they missed the memo. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans thought Shubman Gill could fill Hardik Pandya's shoes. But turns out, it's not that simple. You can't just expect a new leader to work wonders without proper support and training. In the end, it's all about making smart decisions and keeping the momentum going. Mumbai Indians' fans are fuming, players are frustrated, and nobody's happy. Same goes for Gujarat Titans. Lesson learned? Transitioning leaders isn't child's play. It takes careful planning, patience, and a whole lot of teamwork. So next time you're switching captains, take a page from Dhoni's playbook and do it right! #CricketLeadership #TeamTransition #MumbaiIndians #GujaratTitans #LeadershipLessons #ChangeManagement #CaptaincyShift #DhoniKohliLegacy #TeamMentorship #InternalTalent #StrategicPlanning #SportsStrategy #CricketWisdom #TeamBuilding #FanPerspective

Ever faced criticism that threatened to pull you down? In his first home match as captain for Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya faced unsupportive fans who called him "chapri" and accused him of showing off. Despite the criticism, Hardik didn't respond with words. Instead, he let his actions speak volumes. Now, as a World Cup winner, Hardik shared this powerful message: "A lot was said by people who don't even know 1% of me as a person. No issues. I have always believed that you never respond with words; let the situation respond. Our victory will speak." Hardik's journey is a powerful reminder for all of us: When people try to pull you down, don't waste your energy responding with words. Instead, let your success do the talking. Stay focused, work hard, and rise above the negativity. Kill them with success and bury them with a smile. #Inspiration #Success #HardikPandya #WorldCup #Leadership

One of the many standout aspects from India's spectacular world cup win was Virat Kohli's post-match presentation speech. His speech offered profound insights applicable beyond cricket. He said, "It was the occasion that helped me put my head down and just respect the situation rather than force things out there—really play the game the team wanted me to play." For corporate professionals, this translates to: Adaptability: Understand and respect the situation. Adapt your strategies to align with the company's goals. Team Alignment: Focus on playing the role the team needs, rather than pushing personal agendas. Patience: Success often requires patience and calculated moves rather than forcing outcomes.Let’s embrace these lessons to achieve professional success and drive our organizations forward. And off course, for all the sales professionals out there, The bestest form of defence is a well calculated-aggressive offence. Bash On regardless! #ProfessionalDevelopment #Teamwork #Adaptability #CorporateSuccess #ViratKohli#salesstrategy
