✨ This week at the Novartis Pavilion in Basel, I had the pleasure of attending 'Next in health series – Charting the future of life sciences with AI, quantum and beyond', hosted by DayOne - Healthcare Innovation .
The discussion, led by expert panelists Iris Grewe, Alexandra Beckstein, Leslie Anne Fendt and Matthias Roeser, delved into the exciting realms of quantum technology and AI in healthcare.
The panel chose to spark a dialogue with thought-provoking questions rather than offer conclusive statements:
🚀 While quantum sensing is revolutionizing MRI diagnostics through increased sensitivity and precision of instruments, quantum computing holds a promise of exponential scaling through Q-bits. Though its control remains a thrilling challenge. In healthcare, AI’s omnipresence raises critical questions of focus and viability. Are we innovating for value, or veering towards a valuation hype?
🔍 AI’s influence extends beyond the expected, with its role in advancing drug development and enhancing pharmaceutical efficiency suggesting a surprising shift in the employment spectrum. Could it be that AI will more likely transform jobs necessitating advanced degrees rather than those with fewer qualifications?
💡 An insightful reflection from the panel struck a chord with me: the essence of innovation and entrepreneurship remains unaltered amidst technological advancements. It's a reminder to ground our pursuits in the fundamentals of management, consider the ethical implications, and to question the status quo.
