The issue we face is monumental: Over 815 million people go to bed hungry every night, a stark contradiction in a world where around 1/3 of all produced food is wasted or lost each year.   This strong mismatch not only underlines a huge problem in our global food distribution and preservation systems but also leads to annual economic losses amounting to a staggering $1 trillion. These inefficiencies represent not just a missed opportunity to alleviate global hunger but also a significant drain on our resources and economies. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak at the Munters Leadership Boost event, an inspiring gathering that brings together thought leaders and innovators from across Munters. It was an honor to speak about a subject close to my heart: the transformative impact of #ai and #digitalization on agriculture and the #future of farming. In my talk, I talked on how cutting-edge technologies like AI and #machinelearning are redefining what's possible in agriculture, how digital tools are increasing efficiency, boosting crop yields, improving resource management, and ultimately leading to more sustainable farming practices. The focus was not only on the #technology itself but on how it empowers farmers, enhances food safety, and ensures a more sustainable approach to feeding the globe. The future of farming is here, and it's digital. By harnessing the power of AI and digitalization, we're not just transforming the landscape of agriculture; we're ensuring that it can meet the demands of the growing global population while maintaining the health of our planet. 🌟 Celebrating Success: Accomplishing the Innosuisse Project 🌟 We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Innosuisse project with remarkable achievements that pave the way for revolutionary advancements in precision feeding! The recently concluded Pocket Feed Lab project, a collaboration between aikemy GmbH and Agroscope, aimed to provide on-site, efficient, and accurate feed testing at an affordable price. This handheld NIRS device for nutritional analysis of crops and feed ingredients marks a significant milestone towards our broader goal of revolutionary precision feeding. Key highlights from the project enclosure summary include: ✅ Significantly enhancing industry efficiency and cost-effectiveness by enabling more frequent testing and formulating more precise diets, resulting in an estimated ROI of ~$30,000 per 100 tons of feed. ✅ Mitigating the production industry's environmental footprint by cutting nutrient waste, thereby reducing the risk of water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Published studies have shown that precision feeding can cut nitrogen waste by 18% in broiler production. We are immensely proud of the impact and potential of the Pocket Feed Lab in transforming the agricultural sector and promoting sustainability.
