Sustainability is more than a buzzword; it’s a necessity nowadays. But we know it can be tough to figure out how to make it work on the farm. To help, we’re starting a series where we’ll share real-life stories about making farms more sustainable. To get things rolling, here’s a great example from our 2023 Sustainability Report - the McCarty Family Farms from Kansas, USA. Here sustainability is a way of life: the farm is using innovative tech to track each cow’s health and happiness, ensuring top-notch care and a smaller carbon footprint. 🐮💙 Curious about how they do it? 👉🏽 Read more about their journey and commitment to sustainable farming here: https://bit.ly/3YxeKLC #DeLaval #TeamBlue #SustainableFarming #AnimalWelfare #CowsComeFirst #Dairy

🌱 Today is World Soil Day! 🌎 Regenerative agriculture is one of the most powerful solutions to heal our soil, grow healthy food, and fight climate change. By restoring soil health, regenerative practices capture carbon, boost biodiversity, and make farming more resilient. Protecting soil through regenerative agriculture isn’t just good for the planet—it’s essential for a sustainable food future. ✨ Here’s how we can act: 1️⃣ Support sustainable agriculture practices that restore soil health, improve water and air quality, boost biodiversity, and combat climate change. 2️⃣ Reduce food waste—when food is wasted, so are the soil resources used to grow it. 3️⃣ Advocate for policies that invest in soil restoration and sustainable food systems. At Littlefoot Ventures, we’re committed to solutions that heal our soil while feeding communities. Whether it’s partnering with food rescue organizations (such as AmpleHarvest.org), upcycling organizations (such as Upcycled Food Association and Matriark Foods) or advocating for regenerative agriculture (through Soil Health Alliance), we believe soil health is key to a sustainable future. #WorldSoilDay #RegenerativeAgriculture #SoilHealth #Sustainability #ClimateAction Eva Goulbourne

🌍 Buitelaar Group's Sustainability Lead, James Watson, was recently invited as a panellist for the premier of the 'World Without Cows' documentary at the European Roundtable for Beef Sustainability in Poland. Privileged to be a part of the day, James emphasised that the beef industry isn't just a linear value chain but a vital nexus that supports biodiversity, soil health, and carbon sequestration through regenerative agriculture. It’s crucial for us to highlight how we contribute to complex ecosystems. He also noted the need for the beef industry's voice to be heard, especially as we embark on long-term commitments like regenerative practices. Working together, engaging consumers and sharing our story is essential for gaining the understanding and support needed to drive our industry forwards. 💚 #Sustainability #RegenerativeAgriculture #ERBS

🌱 Harness the Power of Sustainability! 🌍. There are a number of programs to support ranchers toward adopting regenerative practices. Here's why and a link below for more information. As stewards of vast tracts of land, ranchers have a unique opportunity to lead the way in environmental conservation and sustainability. From wildlife habitat conservation to enhancing soil health, the impact of sustainable practices goes beyond the ranch gate. Here are several ways ranchers can make a difference: Wildlife Habitat Conservation: By maintaining and restoring habitats, ranchers can protect biodiversity and support ecosystem resilience. Soil Health Enhancement: Practices such as rotational grazing and cover cropping not only improve soil fertility but also increase the soil's carbon sequestration potential, which could be key in combating climate change. Water Resource Management: Efficient water use and protecting waterways can significantly reduce a ranch's environmental footprint and support healthy aquatic ecosystems. The benefits of engaging in these practices are immense, not just in terms of ecological impact but also for enhancing the sustainability and profitability of ranching operations. Interested in learning more about how you can contribute to sustainable food systems? Check out the opportunities and resources available here. Let's work together to create a sustainable future, one pasture at a time! 🌾🐄 #Ranching #Sustainability #Agriculture #SoilHealth #Conservation #ClimateAction https://lnkd.in/gpXvfUET
