A.I. and the Transformation of Enterprise Learning Recently, I shared insights in the Financial Times article titled, “Employers look to AI tools to plug skill gaps and retain staff.” AI enables us to create highly personalized, adaptive learning experiences that respond to each associate’s unique needs, helping them build skills faster and more effectively. With AI, training can become more dynamic and targeted, allowing us to bridge skill gaps, foster retention, and prepare our teams for the future of work. Through continuous innovation, The Academy at Bank of America continues to drive transformative learning experiences with innovative technology. #BankofAmerica #TheAcademy #Innovation #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Futureofwork #ImmersiveLearning #LearningandDevelopment

Fascinating insights from the Financial Times on how AI is transforming workforce skills management. Beyond the dystopian narratives of job displacement, companies like Johnson & Johnson and DHL are using AI to develop more nuanced skills taxonomies, create personalized learning paths, enable internal talent mobility, and provide safe simulation environments for skill practice. The key is seeing AI as a collaborative tool, not a replacement. As J&J's CIO Jim Swanson notes, "It's about understanding the big picture of our organisation's skills and helping people know exactly where they should focus their learning." The future of work isn't AI versus humans, but AI with humans. #FutureOfWork #AISkills #TalentDevelopment #WorkplaceLearning
One of the best ways to learn about #AI is to use AI, and I recently got to talk about this in the Financial Times. At Johnson & Johnson, we’re using AI-driven “skills inference” to uncover and enhance the unique strengths of our colleagues. By automating data analysis across multiple HR platforms (something that would be impossible to do manually), we can identify employees’ skillsets and proficiency levels. This helps us see where people are thriving and where they could use more support to grow. What makes this exciting is how we’re keeping people at the heart of it all. We are using #techforgood to empower our teams and get them ready for the future.

"For some employers and educators, AI is already helping to smooth out the acquisition of skills, and to improve existing jobs". Great article on how AI can help resolve the skills gap in your organisation from the Financial Times. Really interesting insight into how companies like Johnson & Johnson, DHL and Bank of America are embracing operational AI. We particularly love Jim Swanson's thoughts "What we’ve found is that one of the best ways to learn about AI is to use AI" This is a big part of our mission at Verodat. Helping organisations get to an 'AI Ready Data Layer' so that they have the freedom to explore AI, agilely, safely and successfully.

A great read about the use of AI in the skills landscape!
📰 I'm quoted in the Financial Times talking about how human decision-making needs to review the safe and appropriate use of AI in the workplace. We at techUK believe that AI tools can be valuable in supporting tasks like connecting employees to learning resources, personalising learning pathways, making training content more accessible, and facilitating self-learning. But high-stakes evaluation and growth decisions are best suited to remain under human supervision - a hybrid approach leverages AI's capabilities while respecting the fundamentally human nature of professional development and growth. We need to ensure the responsible adoption of AI tools in the workplace, especially when used for decision-making, and put human-centric thinking at its heart.
