On #WorldFoodDay, the Netherlands reaffirms its commitment to ensuring food security globally through innovative and sustainable practices. This year’s theme, The Right to Food, highlights the pressing need for everyone to have access to nutritious food. As global challenges grow, food security is more important than ever. In #WestAfrica, the Netherlands is working with local partners to boost horticultural development and promote agroecological solutions. In Côte d'Ivoire, the HortiNord project focuses on empowering young ‘hortipreneurs’ by providing training in sustainable greenhouse farming and modern agricultural techniques. This programme is transforming horticulture and creating opportunities for future generations. Meanwhile in #Senegal, the HortiCôte programme addresses food sovereignty by supporting vegetable production through sustainable, climate-resilient practices. By partnering with Dutch businesses, we’re fostering innovation and collaboration to ensure a stable food supply, while also creating jobs and promoting youth entrepreneurship. The Harithabham Initiative! The Harithabham initiative was launched under the leadership of the CHASS Punnamada unit. This initiative focuses on cultivating nine varieties of vegetables in various households in Punnamada and making them available to everyone. Vegetable seeds and seedlings were distributed to different beneficiaries during the event. The initiative promotes sustainable agriculture and community well-being. By encouraging local vegetable cultivation, it not only enhances food security but also fosters a sense of community among participants. This project empowers individuals to take charge of their nutrition and food security and promotes environmentally friendly practices, making it a fantastic step towards a healthier and greener future. #environment #sustainability #healthandnutrition #foodsecurity

The Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC), in partnership with Starbucks, has completed the Fincas C.A.F.E. Practices Más Productivas project, launched in November 2020 and expanded in April 2022. This initiative distributed 55.7 million disease-resistant coffee seedlings to enhance productivity and sustainability in Colombian coffee farming. I love seeing all those delicious products made with #Donau #Soja certified soya in stores all across Europe. These products are more than tasty – they create impact: Not only because they are deforestation- and conversion-free, non-GM, and come with a low carbon footprint, but they also help to create a market for European soya and European farmers. This roadmap focuses on 𝟰 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 to ensure aquaculture provides healthy, nutritious, and accessible blue foods for both people and the planet. BioMar is featured under the 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 pathway showcasing our efforts to provide consumers with responsible and nutritious seafood options.
