Sales people ....... 👯 So when people hire you they write a job spec...... 📃 It's usually mediocre nonsense written by someone that couldn't be arsed to think about it with sufficient depth to get HR off their backs . But occasionally someone actually thinks it through properly and the spec becomes a useful guiding document for the process . 😆 if they are really smart there may even be a scoring system or something on it . 🤷♂️ So here's my question to you for today . ❓ When you are looking for a job ...where is YOUR job spec? Where is your written specification of what you want and or need for the next move in your career? I'll tell you where . Nowhere . 💥 I've never seen it . Ever . 🌪 Yet I should see it...every single time . A document written in depth about what you are looking for and why ..... Very few people think at that level . 💭 And then they get offered a job or three . And then they compare the jobs with each other . rather than comparing jobs with the original requirement . Or ....pissed off in their current job they just take the one they get offered after going to some interviews that comes up with the right package and hope for the best so they can get away from where they are . Its pathetic . 😢 Truly pathetic. And then they bitch and moan about the company when the job turns out to be a dud when in reality its THEM . It's their fault . They didn't take control and think about the fit at sufficient depth and jumped jobs on an emotional whim. Great for the recruiters though. The last thing we need is you lot getting intelligent on us and starting to think properly about your careers. Thoughts ?

Hot take... I am not a salesman. Yes, I'm paid on a commission basis. Yes, I am evaluated on billings numbers and key activity metrics. But my job is not to sell. It is not my job to try and force a company into hiring a candidate. It is not my job to try and sway a candidate into taking a new job. My job is to provide information and facilitate conversations between human beings, and let them make an educated decision as to whether or not it makes any sense to work together. Not all recruiter's operate this way! #recruitingindustry

How can you assess your shift into a management position? Instead of getting calls from overseas about job offers, you'll find the Sales/Marketing team contacting you to discuss their products and pitch them to you. Gradually, you might start to dislike the calls from international numbers 🙃

#sales Lets understand why peoples feel shy to work in Sales industry. Definition : Sales is a process or exchange of Product or Services for Money. 1 : First thing the don't know that sales is everywhere around of us. Example : Selling products on street to Business deals in office everywhere is sales. 2 : People think sales is hard work and tedious process. 3 : People feel shy and uncomfortable to talking people and showing benefits of products and service. 4 : People feel fear of rejection to the customer. 5 : People think Sale is not lifelong profession, just a temporary job option.

5 sales skills I’m better at because I’m a mom: 1. Active listening: It is VERY important for my children to feel heard. That means I’ve had a lot of practice paying close attention and I naturally bring the same focus to my sales calls. 2. Empathy: I wasn’t heartless before, but having kids and feeling responsible for their mental safety makes me so much more aware (and in my opinion, empathy is critical for good sellers) 3. Patience: I was once told that by a recruiter that my personality assessment showed a very high “impatience”score and I was worried…until she said that’s usually a good quality for a sales person and offered me a job. It’s actually been helpful to tone it down a bit. 4. Prioritization: I was already ruthless with my time, but being there for my kids is a non-negotiable, so I’ve gotten even better 5. Negotiation skills: Coming to terms on *actual* contracts is a cakewalk when you compare it to getting kids to brush their teeth and go to bed. All this to say: working parents are assets and bring SO MUCH more to the table than what's on their resume ✌️

I'll raise a 6th Product Knowledge My 2-year-old is OBSESSED with airplanes, therefore I have become a qualitative experiential and observational Google expert in: ✈️ Identifying the major airlines in the sky by a mere glance at their brand colors (My son can spot them at an INSANE distance, it's pretty impressive!) 🛩️🛩️ Differentiating the sound between a "big" vs. "small" airplane without seeing them. He can also tell the difference between a helicopter and an airplane by the sound. 👨✈️ Career paths for aspiring pilots <3 #boymom #workingparents

Here's a list of qualities required on job postings for an Account Executive: Organization and Time Management Strong Communication Skills Customer-Centric Approach Strategic Problem-Solving Technical Aptitude Business Acumen Adaptability Persistence Team Player Empathy All of the above is critical. However, the best AEs I know though have one quality that's usually not listed on applications — it's curiosity. Curiosity is so important! IDK why it's not listed more. I'm not in the job market, but I've been helping friends who're AEs looking. I've been reading through the JDs and have been so surprised many times it's not listed. Curiosity leads to better discovery. Curiosity leads to continual learning. Curiosity is what closes deals. The best AEs I know aren't the most charismatic — they're the most curious. I just got off a call this morning with a real estate agent who talked at me for the first 25 minutes. He asked no questions and was just going through the motions. I'm looking elsewhere b/c of the experience. I try to put myself in the buyer's shoes. People respect when you're curious and are trying to help them solve their problems. The idea is to not interrogate them, but keep the convo going like you're talking to an old friend. This is why Sales is an Art & a Science. Stay curious :)

🚨 Jobseeker PSA 🚨 The job search is a sales process and YOU are the product! The faster you understand that, the faster you’ll get results. Why does that matter? Because thousands of other people are also gunning for that job and that salary that you want. If you want to beat them out, you need to show the company why investing in you brings the best return. Don’t like sales? Think you’re bad at sales? Here are some tips to start. Great salespeople DO NOT: ❌ Make their pitch / message about themselves ❌ Copy/paste the same message to thousands of people ❌ Summarize their product offering by running down a monotone checklist of features ❌ Stick with tactics that aren’t helping them hit their numbers Instead, great sales people: ✅ Put themselves in their customer’s shoes to understand their needs and goals ✅ Tie the benefits of their offering directly into their prospects needs/goals/issues ✅ Get laser focused on a small set of “final decision makers” ✅ Are constantly experimenting and tracking the success rates of different activities - then they stick with what works If you want to win more job offers, start treating your target companies and contacts as prospective customers.
