Privileged to represent Nuclear Power and Energy Agency at this great event (project under the @Ministry of Energy and Petroleum- MoEP, Kenya). Indeed much has been done by the Counties on #EnergyUse and much more is intended to ensure #EnergyDemand #Stimulation via the #ValueAddation initiatives from Counties rich potential to spur #ElectricityDemand and subsequently lead to increase in Kenya's #GenerationCapacity to 10,000MW+ within few years (around existing #EnergySources and boosted by the prospective #NuclearPower #NuclearReactors whose single reactor in a power plant can provide close to 1/2 our current total generation capacity), as per the national plans towards #CleanEnergy for #development... What came out strongly was Sustainability and #Coordinated/ #Integrated approach in energy developments and innovations between the National and County Governments (#COG) lead by the #MoEP, #NuPEA (Coordinator of Capacity Building and R&D), REREC (for Rural Renewable Electrification) and all other Sector Entities and Stakeholders) as outlined in the #EnergyAct2019 https://lnkd.in/dYbBZm5w. As #SETAKenya (#SETA) project comes to a close after such a wonderful job and enormous resources and capacities, the documented recommendations need to be implemented to the detail (#CollaborativeImplementation, #JointImplementation, #CoordinatedApproach... https://lnkd.in/dF6vqEMM.
Delegates at the SETA Close Out Project in Nairobi. For the past three and half years, SETA has robustly supported 16 Counties to develop their County Energy Plans Emma Nyabicha

As far back as the 1960s, architects of African integration agreed that building infrastructure was vital to lubricate the wheels of intra-African trade and distribute its benefits regionally. The continent's leaders embarked on ambitious projects such as the trans-African highways -- segments of which would eventually stretch from Cairo to Dakar, Tripoli to Windhoek and Lagos to Mombasa. These would provide access to the sea to 15 landlocked countries and improve regional links. #WeKnowAfrica

"As a collective concern, Sri Lanka recognizes the need for south-south knowledge sharing on debt-burden management. As the creditors create collectives, it is to be considered that the debtors should not find themselves alone in negotiating solutions, to issues created, in major part, by structural issues in the global economic order and the dated international financial architecture. South-South cooperation must prioritize the building of trust and work towards meaningful solidarity by using our collective power to reinforce the momentum toward sustainable development and a more just and equitable financial structure." https://lnkd.in/e_ZGjrXt

In line with the privatization act of 2023 being declared unconstitutional it exposes new risks to the development of port infrastructure in Kenya, even with the recent developments on the public private partnerships adopted have been a major boost in enhancing the productivity at the Kenyan ports. However the already existing intergovernmental initiatives under LAPSET and northern corridor development projects offer a buffer on stalling of the development agenda. The historical debate on whether port infrastructure and superstructure development should be left to the private entities or the public interest in this facilities override the private interests are yet to play out. And today as we celebrate the World maritime day we have to remember that ports are engines economic development and in the future of both national development and regional development requires collaboration between public and private sectors.
