Is it true? Is everything bigger in Texas? I recently attended a MassChallenge event at Dallas’ Biotech+ Hub at Pegasus Park where they discussed the emerging trends, challenges and opportunities in the BioTech landscape. The collaboration of key players in the life sciences ecosystem across the state of Texas is impressive. I can only imagine how much the BioTech industry will grow in #Dallas over the next five to ten years. As a matter of fact, there are groups such as the Biotechnology and Healthcare Business Alliance of North Texas and Tech Fort Worth where industry leaders are partnering to ensure our workforce is trained, attract hobs and corporations. Government funded initiative like Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) and Bioworks for North Texas have strengthened Texas’ position. People are great at keeping tabs on company stats and goals, but when it comes to our own well-being... not so much. I learned this the hard way with my kidney disease. By keeping an eye on my numbers and making some changes, I was able to slow down its progress. It was amazing to see how my body responded, how my skin and the foam in my urine changed, how my blood pressure and weight fluctuated with different foods, etc.... But here's the thing: the way we measure kidney function (eGFR) just isn't practical for daily tracking, and it's expensive and hard to access for most people. That's why we're working on a solution at MetaSano! We're dedicated to changing the way eGFR is measured, making it easier and more accessible for everyone to take control of their health.

Cross-Industry innovation at its best in #Bavaria! 🚀 The Vasc-on-Demand project from Würzburg is an outstanding example of ground-breaking research and technological innovation! Led by Dr Matthias Ryma at Universitätsklinikum Würzburg, the team is developing artificial blood vessels for 3D tissue models that are revolutionising medical research. This technology enables more precise predictions of drug effects and contributes significantly to the reduction of animal testing.💉 The project was recently awarded a significant grant of 2.5 million euros from the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). Congratulations to the Vasc-on-Demand team! Bavaria is the ideal location for such cross-industry innovations, especially in the fields of "New Materials" and "Health, MedTech & Life Sciences". The collaboration between these sectors is clearly demonstrated in the Vasc-on-Demand project, in which advanced materials research meets state-of-the-art medical technology.
