Today is World IP Day. This year's theme is innovation that focuses on SDGs ("Sustainable Development Goals"). I can't think of a better place than Whisper Aero than to celebrate innovation and sustainable transportation together. It's as if this year's theme was made just for my job, especially with the vast innovation happening here. As noted by the UN: "Sustainable transportation can enhance economic growth and improve accessibility. Sustainable transport achieves better integration of the economy while respecting the environment. improving social equity, health, resilience of cities, urban-rural linkages and productivity of rural areas"

José Miguel Yturralde, founder of YPSILOM, had the pleasure of meeting with Toby Heaps, founder of Corporate Knights. How can equal, global partnerships help us achieve the Sustainable Development Goals? 🤝 That is one of the key topics at the United Nations General Assembly and the Sustainability Summit NYC. As part of the lead up to the summit, we have spotlighted some of the SDGs which feature prominently on the summit agenda. Now we have reached the one that sets the stage for the entire summit. The SDGs represent a universal call to action for a more sustainable and equitable future for all. #SDG17 encompasses key areas such as finance, technology, trade, and data as well as the key message: the goal of a sustainable future can only be met if we work together. There are many different ways of deepening international partnerships. As highlighted in the Danish government’s new Africa Strategy, Denmark sees great potential for strengthened collaboration. For example in strategic sector corporations which allow Danish ministries, municipalities and other entities to team up with their African sister organizations. These partnerships pave the way for political dialogue on global issues, commercial opportunities, cultural exchange, and new green solutions. Partnerships between the public and private sector are also essential - both in identifying the means necessary in the green transition and in executing them. Often, the private sector perspective can provide a relevant supplement to the insights from academics, NGOs, and policy makers. This partnership-focus will be the foundation of next week’s Sustainability Summit NYC. The halfway point has already been reached and we still have 6 years, 9 months and 2 days to go.   Our sustainability expert Kirstin Brünjes explains what this means:     𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆  On the 25th of September 2015, 193 UN member states unanimously adopted the 2030 Agenda, the global reference framework for sustainable development. At its core are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that must be achieved by 2030.        𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆  The 17 SDGs of the 2030 Agenda (SDGs) concern us all and are of central importance for the future of Switzerland. For this reason, Switzerland has committed to implement the 2030 Agenda at both national and international level.       𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆   To this end, the Federal Office for Spatial Development ARE developed a toolbox in collaboration with B Lab Switzerland to implement the global goals locally. It contains many good examples for the implementation of the sustainable development for companies but also for communities and cantons.       𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀…    … at radicant, the UN SDGs represent our north star and sustainability framework.
