This prestigious event will bring together global leaders and innovators to reimagine the future of the agri-food industry, and we are honoured to be part of it. We’ll be exhibiting at the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia (AFTEA) 2024, where we are excited to showcase our seaweed innovations and their potential to address some of the sector’s most pressing challenges. From enhancing food security to advancing sustainable agriculture, our pioneering seaweed fermentation technology offers versatile solutions for human, animal, and plant health. We look forward to demonstrating how our products can contribute to a healthier, more sustainable food system. Our founder, Simon Davis, will be speaking on stage and also participating in several panel discussions, focusing on building a resilient blue value chain in Asia. He will explore the pivotal role of seaweed in this transformation and offer valuable insights into how marine innovation—particularly seaweed—can drive the future of the agri-food sector. Additionally, we will be attending the APAC Agri-Food Summit, where we’ll engage with thought leaders, partners, and investors who share our commitment to sustainable solutions. This week promises to be filled with meaningful discussions, collaborations, and the opportunity to showcase the transformative power of our seaweed innovations. If you’re in Singapore, we invite you to visit us at the expo—we’d be delighted to connect and explore how we can work together towards building a more resilient and sustainable agri-food system. Once again, I am excited to be heading to Singapore International Agri-Food Week! This year’s theme, 'Scaling Innovation in Asia's Agri-Food Systems,' aligns perfectly with Aleph Farms' roadmap. As Asia's population is set to play a key role in the projected 9.7 billion global population by 2050—and with its rapidly growing middle class—the pursuit of food security and resilience has never been more critical. Asia’s leadership in addressing demographic and environmental challenges, as well as supply chain complexities, is pivotal in shaping the future of global food systems. Singapore stands at the forefront of this movement, serving as a dynamic hub for food innovation. It functions as a nerve center where producers, suppliers, visionaries, investors, policymakers, and regulators collaborate to develop solutions that redefine what is possible for sustainable nutrition in the region and around the world. I am honored to speak on November 19th at the Sandbox of the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia (AFTEA), alongside visionary leaders from APAC Society for Cellular Agriculture, including Peter Yu, Kai Yi Carrie Chan, Yuki Hanyu, and Jeff Tripician. Together, we’ll discuss how cellular agriculture is not only enhancing Asia's food systems but also propelling the region toward a future where innovation, policy, and strategic investment converge to unlock the full potential of sustainable solutions that benefit both people and the planet. FOODIS - new project to work on at https://lnkd.in/er_3vWRM Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg, lead partner Fondazione Agrifood & Bioeconomy FVG 🌱 Let's Address Food Waste Together! 🍽️ In the EU, roughly 20% of food is wasted. That's about 173 kilograms per person annually. In Austria, we discard a staggering 791,000 tons of food each year, with the majority coming from households, gastronomy, and food production. It's time for change! FOODIS Interreg Italia - Österreich 2021-2027 was launched in December 2023, aiming to make the food systems of #Carinthia (Austria) and Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy) more sustainable and resilient. Through #collaborative efforts, we're leveraging expertise in #agriculture, #IT, #logistics, #transformation, and #foodsecurity to create lasting impact. Our goal? To create a collaborative, cross-border ecosystem fostering intelligent, sustainable, and inclusive changes in the food sector. We're working on #innovativesolutions, like digital mapping of food value chains and developing platforms to collect and #redistribute #surplus #food effectively. With one-third of all food wasted globally and millions suffering from hunger, it's imperative to promote a #circulareconomy. Let's prioritize thrift, innovation, sustainability, and solidarity in our #resource management practices. Ultimately, we aim to establish a replicable model of a #sharedecosystem, supporting #food and #logistics industries through skill systematization and #service #optimization.
