The WElink team had an incredible experience at WindEnergy Hamburg 2024, the world’s leading business platform for the wind energy sector. With over 37,000 attendees and 1,400 exhibitors, this event was a powerhouse of innovation and collaboration. We spoke to Peter Golden, Project & Corporate Finance Manager, and he gave us his takeaways from the conference — • There’s major excitement surrounding the Portugal 1TWh opportunity, and we received a lot of interest from turbine manufacturers eager to be part of this project. • The financing market for Southern Europe is looking strong, with significant interest from European banks to support the region’s renewable energy growth. • The sector’s optimism is infectious! As turbines grow larger and more efficient, the energy transition feels closer than ever, with thought leaders and innovators excited to tackle the challenges ahead. My very first day in Neumünster and my first presentation as an independent consultant under my label Offshore Wind Kommunikation 🌊⚓at the GATEWAY49 Energy Industry #ClusterDay: Many thanks 🙏🙏 to Dr. Elisabeth Eggert from Gateway 49 and SWN Stadtwerke Neumünster for the cordial invitation💙 to hold a keynote speech. The event was opened by Morris May, Managing Director of Stadtwerke Neumünster, followed by Stefan Stengel, Programme Director of GATEWAY49. Following my keynote on ‘Energy transition and #transformation: focus on offshore wind energy’, I was impressed 👏 by the pitches from Prof. Dr. Alexandra K. Mikityuk from Staex and Holger Prang from ANN RADAR. The panel discussion, in which I was able to participate with Morris May and Felix Mertens from NAECO Blue GmbH, moderated by Dr Elisabeth Eggert, highlighted the different perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of the #energytransition in Germany and the associated regulatory frameworks also in the #European context. Transformation means change and rethinking many things🌀. That's why I find the different perspectives of new and existing players in the energy industry particularly interesting. 👉 I think it's important that start-ups 🚀 receive meaningful support so that they can advance the #sustainableenergysystem with their 🆕 ideas.
