On the way to his second Tour de France victory last year, Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard was facing tough questions regarding his pace before he even arrived in Paris. How was he going so fast? How was it possible to be over seven minutes ahead of a cyclist of Tadej Pogačar's caliber? Some reporters even explicitly asked: "Are you cheating?". In 2023, Vingegaard completed the grueling 3-week, 3,401 kilometer competition at an average speed of 41.4 km/h (25.574 mph). Given cycling's deservedly bad reputation, it is perhaps understandable that exceptional performances like that still raise suspicions. As Statista's Felix Richter shows in the chart below, the Tour de France has not slowed down since the doping-infested years of the early 2000s. Whether that's due to super-fast carbon bikes, favorable routing or the use of performance-enhancing substances is a question the sport is not yet fully able to answer.

🚲 Since 1909, the Giro d'Italia has established itself as one of the most prestigious cycling competitions in the world. Part of the Grand Tours, along with the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, the Giro represents the pinnacle of international cycling. Originally, the race started and ended in Milan, but in the last fifty years, the start and finish stages have varied every year, often crossing international countries. 📌 The 100th edition of 2017 holds the record of the longest route, with a total of 3,615.4 kilometers. 🚵♂️ This year, the competition started on May 4 and will end on May 26. The route extends for a total of 3,400.8 kilometers, crossing some of the most fascinating regions of Italy. Cyclists will face 21 stages, characterized by challenges that include both challenging climbs and fast flat stretches. 🏆 The first stages have already given unforgettable emotions, with Tadej Pogačar who yesterday reconfirmed the pink jersey winning the 15th stage of Giro d'Italia. 🌍Giro d'Italia continues to be a symbol of resilience and sporting spirit, uniting people of different nationalities in a celebration of sport and determination. 🌎 Direct impact of CoMoveIT working together with Permobil in France! 🇫🇷 Impact direct de la collaboration entre CoMoveIT et Permobil en France !
Vincere insieme - Winning together 🏆 was the motto of Belgian cycling superteam Mapei in the 90's and early 00's. 👩🦼Even though cycling doesn't have a lot in common with powered wheelchair mobility, we can learn a lot from the philosophy the team embodied. I understand 'Winning together' in a lot of different ways: 1️⃣Smarter together - By combining our respective specialties we know more 🧠 2️⃣Faster together - By knowing more, we achieve the best solution faster, without the need for endless improvisations 💨 3️⃣Stronger together - By joining forces, we can offer a better mobility solution : the correct seating system, the right support, the correct base and the clinically sound steering system 💪 4️⃣Better together - Multidisciplinary opinions lead to a more nuanced view of the clients situation to achieve the ideal solution. You can see a perfect example of this when Théo and I visited IEM 'La Marrière' during a CoMoveIT and Permobil France roadshow. Together with the occupational therapists and the CPO's who made their custom seating we saw these two boys driving around comfortably after just an hour! Events such as Eurobike, the international trade fair on the world of cycling, Roc d'Azur the reference event for mountain biking in France and Europe, Sea Otter Europe, the European festival on sustainable mobility, born out of Sea Otter Classic one of the world's largest cycling festivals, held every year since 1991 in California, ITB Berlin, the international trade fair for the tourism industry, and many others, give industry professionals plenty of opportunities to connect with key players in the market, both to discover new products and services, and to meet new players in the tourism and regional promotion sector with whom they can create business opportunities. Recent figures for the global bicycle market show a decline in 2023 compared to the previous year, but there are concrete prospects for growth and confidence in two-wheelers. However, it is also important to consider other factors, such as consumer preferences, government regulations and logistical challenges, in order to maximise success in the bicycle market: It is crucial to raise awareness of the use of bicycles, their value, tradition and strength, and to promote the unique features of the bicycle in the face of the great interest it still attracts. Participating in bike trade fairs offers not only the opportunity to discover the latest innovations, but also to grasp the challenges and opportunities of the ever-changing market. The European Union is also working to create new jobs in the pedal cycle industry, imagining that there could be a significant growth in demand in the years to come. For us at Ship To Cycle, connecting and collaborating with other companies in the industry is very important and participation in trade fairs is crucial to better understand the market and how we can continuously improve our service!
