As a part of SecondMuse Capital's advisory services, funded by the Walton Family Foundation, we explored what collaboration can look like for philanthropic partnering at scale in the future of education, learning and school in the United States. There is no doubt that the education system is complex with a diversity and divergence of educational approaches, models, and values while it strives to cater to the holistic needs of young individuals. We asked questions such as what constitutes a partnership, what initiatives are ripe of partnering, and how do we do this at scale? While there are challenges, we believe that they are not insurmountable and have identified two tools that can facilitate the process. Sliding Fundraising Consultant at your service 🛝 I was at Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP Global) and #AFPMexico's fundraising conference in Merida, Mexico in early September. The Universidad Anáhuac hosted the conference, and this amazing slide was on their campus! Of course, I had to do it! I am not saying the slide was the highlight but... Just kidding. Actually, it was so interesting to hear from consultants and fundraising experts from Latin America about how philanthropy is done in their corner of the world. What surprised me MOST was how much US-based research and frameworks were cited. More research should be done on locally relevant fundraising strategies! Cheers for more fundraising research! P.S. As the end of the Illuminate campaign draws to an end, I think I've exhausted my pitch on giving back to Union just to give back and support Union. My experience at Wofford wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of others. I see this as an opportunity to play my small part in helping future students access a quality education. 2.
