Prague, a city in Europe, has emerged as a prominent hub for startup companies, ranking at the top across all categories in the 'Startup Heatmap Europe 2023' study. The city's exceptional performance in the study is evident in its Rank_Popularity of 24 and an impressive percentage of 2% of founders who can envision starting their company in Prague. This popularity can be attributed to Prague's strong ecosystem for entrepreneurs, evidenced by its commendable Rank_Growing_Entrepreneurs of 17 out of 200 cities analyzed. Moreover, the city exhibits a growing capacity to accelerate startups, as reflected in its Rank_AcceleratingStartups of 33. While Prague's Rank_ScalingUnicorns of 40 indicates room for improvement in activating large-scale investments for growth, the city's overall potential as a top-tier startup destination cannot be ignored. With its vibrant startup scene and supportive environment, Prague continues to attract entrepreneurs and make significant strides in the European startup landscape. https://lnkd.in/ef-Qu-y9

Running an event like Techstars Startup Week outside Lisbon or Porto is crucial for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across Portugal. While these cities are known for their vibrant startup ecosystems, many smaller towns and regions are often overlooked, despite having immense potential. By bringing an event of this caliber to areas beyond the major hubs, we can create opportunities for local talent, provide access to valuable resources, and foster a sense of community among entrepreneurs who may otherwise lack support. This initiative helps decentralize innovation, spreading the entrepreneurial spirit to all corners of the country. This is something very close to my heart. I’ve personally seen how entrepreneurship can transform smaller communities, driving economic growth and creating jobs. In many cases, talented individuals outside Lisbon or Porto don’t have the same access to networks, mentors, and investors, which limits their potential. Bringing Techstars Startup Week to these regions ensures that local entrepreneurs don’t miss out on these critical opportunities. For me, it’s about democratizing access to innovation and giving everyone—regardless of location—the tools they need to succeed. I’m committed to ensuring that every corner of Portugal has the opportunity to be part of the country’s thriving startup ecosystem. Focus on progress, not perfection — that is how startups win Did you know that some of the well-known companies you admire today started with imperfect products and services? They didn't wait until everything was flawless to launch. Instead, they tested, learned and iterated along the way. Progress beats perfection every time. The real winners are those who focus on making small, meaningful progress each day. As a startup, what project have you been holding off on because you feel it is not perfect yet? This week, I challenge you to take action, even if it is imperfect because progress will always move you closer to your goal. Have a productive week P.S.
