𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡? 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧 about the high number of 𝐮𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 in Children's Residential Care Services. The demanding nature of the job, including long hours, sleep-in shifts, and stressful situations, 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 from pursuing a career in this field. 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐛, but the hours and shifts do not fit in with their current circumstances OR they are not getting the opportunities of an interview with the Hiring Managers or HR. 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 about the vital role that Children's Residential Care facilities play in supporting vulnerable children and families. Many people may not fully grasp the unique challenges and complexities involved in this line of work, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 and the wrong people offered employment. 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 among employees in this field, leading many to seek alternative career paths. Without adequate support and resources to address these challenges, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡, creating a perpetual cycle of unfilled vacancies. 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 to start and complete relevant qualifications after successfully passing their probationary period or 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚. 𝐁𝐲 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 and promoting a better understanding of the critical services provided, we can attract more individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children.
