The African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) holds its 30TH ARSO GENERAL ASSEMBLY EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 2024 under the theme “Educate an African fit for the 21st Century- building a quality culture - “One market-one standard”. The GA will include other events like the ARSO Champions meeting, African Day of Standardisation Forum and the Made in Africa Expo (MiAE). ARSO through its mandate enhances Africa’s internal trading capacity, increased Africa’s product and service competitiveness globally, and uplift of the welfare of African consumers as well as standardization forum for future prospects in international trade referencing. The ARSO also plays a key role in the implementation of the AGENDA 2063…….. AGENDA 2063 is Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. This time last week AEI were delighted to host our sixth City of London Networking event. We were privileged to be joined by so many friends and colleagues who are all now part of the AEI ecosystem. We heard from our Deputy CEO Mickey Stewart MBE discussing a positive minor course adjustment in the Saudi market, but we also heard again about the AEI 5 Ps. This framework is the consistent start point for our briefings to investors beginning their journey into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 1️⃣ Planning is a given, but make sure you do it with an experienced practitioner from the dynamic market. 2️⃣ Presence doesn’t just mean flying in and out when time allows, Saudis like to do business with people they trust, that takes time. 3️⃣ Partnering is not essential, but make sure you know what is statutory and what is voluntary when considering your options. 4️⃣ Payment will of course keep you afloat in a new market, make sure you know how to secure cashflow. 5️⃣ Patience is essential on your journey, Saudi is not a quick win marketplace, manage your expectations. Power IR and the undeniable role of AI in our industry's continued growth. Incredible to be here at the Middle East's most prestigious capital markets conference Arab Federation of Capital Markets (AFCM) in Qatar with true senior executive leaders in this dynamic region where I will soon be going on stage to share my views on AI and careers in IR - But I need your help! It is acknowledged that we are still at the foothills of where the transformative effect of AI will take our global IR and corporate reputation industries. Whilst we know that relationships with investors and analysts are critical and will always remain central to an effective IR programme, it is obvious to me that AI won’t replace you – but someone who can use AI will! Only last week a large FTSE 100 client for whom we provided a strong shortlist of candidates quite literally could not choose between four of the final 12. The only reason they plumped for the preferred candidate was that they had recently developed via Microsoft a bespoke IR programme which would save the CFO millions in the IR budget but also elevate the IR programme to make it more effective.
