This afternoon we set up a table in One Square Bar & Brasserie with some tasty samples for our guests, to try our range of "Zero Food Waste" items. These included our, 🍉 Homemade watermelon cordial: Using leftover watermelon fruit from breakfast, we boil this down with water and sugar to make fresh, fruity cordial. 🌮 Home-smoked BBQ brisket, pickled red onion, zero-waste chilli and watermelon rind ketchup 🍪 Shortbread biscuits with ground-coffee for a subtle twist on a classic Thank you team, and thank you to all our lovely guests who came to hear about what the Sheraton Grand is doing to contribute - it is genuinely such an important initiative that we are all taking seriously.

New research by VisitScotland reveals growing visitor demand for Scotland’s food and drink experiences. Findings showed that 46% visitors took part in at least one food and drink activity (in addition to eating out) during their trip last year, with 19% of long-haul visitors naming food and drink as the reason for choosing Scotland to visit. Visiting a whisky, gin distillery or brewery (26%) was the most popular type of food and drink activity followed by farm shop or farmers market (22%), fine dining (14%) or other experience such as a cookery class or afternoon tea (9%). Experiencing locally produced food and drink was important to all visitors, especially those from the USA (51%) who make up Scotland’s largest international visitor market.
