Today's event organized by HSR Founders Club, "Ask Me Anything" (#AMA) with founders and VCs from deep tech, was very insightful. I got to learn about the deep tech journey and how to approach investors with data they can trust to invest. It is very important to have clear milestones, both technological and sales-related, to get investors interested in your startup. The approach suggested by Vinod Shankar to use the Indian research ecosystem for reducing innovation costs was helpful, enabling the building of capital-intensive deep tech. Thanks to Java Capital for organizing such a wonderful event connecting VCs and founders to share their insights. Please continue to organize such events.

Many thanks to Daniel Chew for inviting me to the ''A Conversation about Deep Tech: Startup Palette Show Live'' event hosted by NiceTo . It was a great opportunity to connect with experts from various fields who generously shared their founder experiences. I also met an amazing group of UNSW students Lucia (Shu) Li , Youliangzi (Betty) Fu, Anushweta Mukherjee, Het Gor, Xiaoyu Cao, Yishan Ma, Coco Huang, and most importantly, I gained valuable insights from Sally, Harikesh and Suneeta. Here are three key takeaways that stood out to me: 1. Be your authentic self—show up, even if you're not perfect. 2. You always learn by doing things. 3. If you work hard every day, luck won’t miss you.

It’s good to see Web3 startups winning back VC hearts (for now) and to all the bros who didn’t jump ship fully to AI, we got you. AI and Web3 belong together and I believe funding shouldn't be related to market speculation but the massive potential to disrupt for years to come. Recently, I had a great chat with Eliot Horowitz, the CEO and Founder of Viam (and the Founder and brain behind MongoDB with a $27.5bil Market-Cap in 2023), about his new startup. It’s incredible how his journey began with a simple cat-feeding robot (I will share it later in another post) and evolved into Viam, an open-source platform that makes hardware more flexible, scalable, and developer-friendly and makes a bridge between software and machines. which is practically being used by The Whale and Vessel Safety Task Force (@WAVS). #Pathway2Tech As a participant in the Headstarter AI fellowship, I had the opportunity to attend a fantastic panel discussion with industry leaders: Nabeel Alamgir🦄 (CEO of LunchBox), Dustin Beadle (Director at Lattice Semiconductor), Logan Havern (CEO of DataLogz), and Shariar Kabir & Miguel Acero (Co-Founders of Ruby Card - YC W23). Here are some key takeaways: Nabeel Alamgir (CEO of LunchBox) Authenticity and Tenacity: Overcame 72 rejections before securing $100M in venture capital. Advice: "Be honest and don’t oversell yourself." Look for companies that respect you. Dustin Beadle (Director at Lattice Semiconductor) Importance of Soft Skills: Technical expertise is crucial, but so are communication and curiosity. Effective communication is key. Logan Havern (CEO of DataLogz) Relentless Perseverance: Pitched to 93 ventures in four months while living on minimal savings, eventually raising $12M. Persistence pays off. Shariar Kabir & Miguel Acero (Co-Founders of Ruby Card - YC W23) Embracing Failure: Learned from various failed ventures, including an FBI scare, before finding success. Miguel’s switch from medicine to tech was especially inspiring. Pro Tips: Blend Coding and Communication Skills: Pair technical abilities with effective communication. Engage Actively: Ask insightful questions and participate in thoughtful conversations. Find Ideas in Daily Life: Look for startup ideas in your daily routine; simplicity often leads to innovation. Important Tips: *Learn from your failures, they teach you more than any other. *How tough might the situation be, work hard, and keep up your consistency, eventually you will reach your goal. *Interacting more with people, growing your connection, and building one's communication skills are more important as people will look up to it. Intensive Weekend: 🚀Shahar Hillel and I set up an AI voicebot dedicated to mentoring startup founders in record time. 🚀 Our adventure began last Thursday while chatting with Alex M Dascalu, who was busy advising startup founders on that day. We asked him whether an "AI coach for startup founders" would be useful. His response? "Sure thing!" We got immediately inspired! Shahar and I (team #AI-migos) then registered for Veridion's great hackathon in Bucharest that very same day. We immediately began working on a voice bot, convinced that voice engagement would provide deeper insights and better advice to founders in the long run. Over the weekend, we focused on integrating this bot with Veridion's extensive dataset : Veridion ingests all corporate data from the web on a weekly basis. This enables us to map the competitive landscape for any startup project, based on a phone conversation. This challenge was submitted by Bogdan Iordache for the hackathon. A big shout-out to the organizers at Veridion! We named our bot "Greg", after my good friend Gregory Rondin!
