Your apprentices + grads WILL forget 90% of what's taught at induction.. Why? Because humans are forgetting machines.. When you first learn something that information disappears at an exponential rate Now combine that with the nerves and unknown of your first job! So how can we help them remember? ➡️ Reinforce it! Create time blocks for them to practice/review material and provide videos, checklists, and summaries for pre-/post-learning to digest and understand in their own time. ➡️ Make it relevant Let managers know what they'll be learning + when (+ give guidance) so it's easy to create opportunities for exposure to the skill they're learning in their role. ➡️ Make it interactive Actually make it fun - boring training does not stick. Gamify it and create experiences, VR/AR and rewards based using badges, points or vouchers Early Careers and L&D teams is there anything else you'd add? #fairyjobmother #earlycareers #genzatwork #apprentices
Omg love this pic!!! Brilliant points. During onboarding as an apprentice I made notes of EVERYTHING on a onenote as you’re so right, you literally can’t remember it all. So I created my own little handbook and referred back to it all the time 💁♀️
Thanks for sharing

6moI’m not surprised by this stat at all! Lots of people that I speak to in my 1:1 financial coaching sessions ask me how their workplace pension works. They say that they were probably told during the onboarding process but they didn’t take it in as they were being given loads of information about different things all at once. Thats why I always suggest to employers that they have refresher sessions during the year in a way that is engaging and welcoming to employees.
