This is the snapshot of Today's power demand at 21:12 hrs. Uttar Pradesh's power demand keeps on rising day by day. Last year maximum power demand which was 29147MW already surpassed 25.05.2024. The CEA projected the demand to be 28291MW in May 2024 which surpassed on 21.05.2014. The CEA has anticipated the peak demand to be 31917MW in Aug-Sept 2024. But given the current trend the actual maximum peak demand may exceed the anticipated demand. #PowerEngineering #EnergyManagement #UttarPradesh #Electricity #PowerDemand #SustainableEnergy #EngineeringExcellence #Infrastructure #EnergySector #RenewableEnergy

Electrical safety, especially in environments like substations, or switch yards is critically important due to the potential for arc flash incidents. These incidents can result in serious injuries or fatalities, as well as significant damage to equipment. Proper training, adherence to safety protocols, and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) are essential to mitigate risks associated with arc flashes. Regular maintenance and inspections of electrical systems also play a crucial role in preventing such incidents. #electricalsafety #RenewableEnergy #Substation #fire #explosion #safeculture #humansafety #HSE #PreventAccident #constructionsafety

Assam, brings in its first standalone #battery #storage tender of 25 MW/ 100 MWh (EPC + O&M). This tender equals the record of 25 tenders which were issued in 2023, with three months to go, 2024 will far surpass 2023's record. In terms of storage #capacity, in 2024 (till Oct) we are already at 1.6X times the capacity #tendered in 2023. The total tendered #ESS capacity stands at 108 GWh (75 tenders) as of 5th October 2024, of which 79 GWh are PSP, 13 GWh is agnostic and 16 GWh is #battery specific (13 GWh of which has been tendered just in 2024 alone!) This year has also been the most successful year yet in terms of #projects being awarded and that of PSAs being signed in the energy storage space. Lets just talk about #standalone BESS, of the 9 tenders which has been tendered till now in the year, 4 has already been #awarded! Its been equally good for #PSP, which saw one being awarded in a record time of 4 months and LOA being signed for one another! Sharing some of the slides which I shared at the The Battery Show India over the last two days. The tender documents for the OTPC tender can be accessed here: https://lnkd.in/d4TuaV9m Amazing times indeed #energytransition!

The company won the bid to establish inter-state transmission systems for power evacuation from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (6 GW) on a BOOT basis. These projects include new substations and transmission lines traversing Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab. Additionally, Power Grid's board approved raising ₹5,000 crore via non-convertible bonds. These wins strengthen Power Grid’s leadership in India's transmission infrastructure. Power Quality Guidelines for E-Charging Stations in Madhya Pradesh The MPERC (Power Quality) Regulations, 2024, aim to ensure proper power quality for consumers, including e-charging stations. It addresses issues like voltage variation, flickers, sags, and harmonics. Distribution Licensees are responsible for monitoring power quality, maintaining meters, and ensuring compliance. These regulations will take effect one year after notification. Story Insights by Shreyanshi Pandey MP has issued a draft regulation for power quality guidelines aimed at reducing power losses by ensuring the monitoring and maintenance of electrical power parameters in the state. As the state’s losses stand at a higher end than the national average, it is necessary for the implementation of these guidelines to reduce voltage variations, unbalance, sags, dips, and swells in the power supply and minimize loss of actual power generation. Regulation for potential power quality polluters including e-charging stations will eventually help boost the charging infrastructure of the state by mitigate power quality issues using appropriate devices like filters. Mandating strategic installation of Power Quality Meters at substations and consumer points will help distribution licensees in the state to ensure these polluters to maintain compliance with established standards thus improving the state’s power supply quality. These regulations when implemented will act as standard for other states with poor power quality to follow the same.
