Hanwha Ocean Secures Major LNG Vessel Order Worth $413.6 Million I’m excited to see South Korea continue leading in shipbuilding innovation with Hanwha Ocean's latest achievement. The major shipbuilder has recently won a 545.4 billion-won contract (equivalent to USD $413.6 million) to build a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel. This vessel, scheduled for delivery by October 2027, is a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), designed to transport and convert LNG into a usable form simultaneously. This technology offers a faster, more efficient, and cost-effective supply of natural gas, particularly for smaller markets where conventional land-based infrastructure is not feasible. With this order, Hanwha Ocean solidifies its role in the global LNG market, serving an undisclosed Asian client. The rise of FSRUs marks an important shift in how we handle natural gas transport and distribution, offering scalable solutions that meet growing energy demands while maximizing flexibility. This is another strong step forward in the evolution of sustainable, efficient LNG supply chains, and I look forward to seeing the results of this collaboration. #LNG #FSRU #HanwhaOcean #EnergySolutions #SustainableTechnology #Innovation #Shipbuilding #NaturalGas #EnergyTransformation #AsiaMarket

Fancy a bit of travel Tuesday? Well you’re in luck! This Tuesday we’ll be travelling to Italy. OLT Offshore LNG Toscana has confirmed that the uninstallation operations of the FSRU Toscana terminal off the coast of Livorno have been successfully concluded. The Terminal will now be towed, with the support of two tugs, to the port of Genoa, where it will remain at the dock for about a month to begin the first phase of the maintenance intervention, aimed at replacing the bearing of the anchoring system. This system was designed and built to ensure the rotation of the Terminal around the geostationary turret permanently anchored to the seabed. GAZ-SYSTEM, Poland's gas transmission operator and developer of the Gdańsk LNG terminal, has secured a long-term charter agreement with MOL, a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., for a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU). This agreement underscores the terminal's role in bolstering Poland's energy security and its recognition as a significant EU infrastructure project. MOL's expertise in FSRU technology further enhances the project's prospects. https://lnkd.in/d3h_viPR #LNGTerminal #LNG #EnergySecurity #Poland #Gdańsk #MOL #FSRU #EUInfrastructure
We are proud to announce that we have signed a long term Time Charter Party (TCP) Agreement, through its 100% subsidiary, for one #FSRU with the Polish Gas Transmission System Operator, GAZ-SYSTEM, the project developer and operator behind the future LNG terminal. The FSRU will be constructed by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard and is expected to be completed in 2027, and thereafter will be managed by the #MOL group. The project involves the construction of a new floating LNG receiving terminal approximately 3 km offshore from the Polish port of Gdańsk and the vessel will play a key role in the terminal as receiving and storage facility. This will be the first FSRU to be deployed in #Poland, which will contribute to the strategic strengthening of the country's energy security. The project is also of great interest to Europe, as it has been designated by the EU as a "Project of Common Interest", an infrastructure development project that contributes at a regional level. 🇮🇹 🚢 Golar Tundra now under Italian flag and new name Italis LNG, no longer Golar Tundra. This is the new name – approved by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport – of Snam S.p.A.'s floating LNG terminal, which has been operating since July 2023 at the Tuscan port of Piombino. With the vessel now listed in the Italian ship registry, the old Marshall Islands flag has been replaced with the tricolour Italian flag. After sending a formal request to the Livorno Port Authority, Snam’s company FSRU Italia successfully completed the process of registering the floating LNG terminal in the Italian ship registry, intending to update it to the technical requirements of Italian regulations. “The inclusion of the Piombino floating LNG terminal in the Italian ship registry is another important step for our FSRU, which we are particularly pleased about. In just under a year, Italis LNG has received 29 cargoes of LNG from five different countries, for a total of 2.6 billion m3 of gas injected into the Italian network, further guaranteeing the security and diversification of energy sources for our country,” stated Stefano Venier, CEO of Snam. Great information. 1) What is process gas type and mol. Wt. 2) what process : how many trains. 3) conversion used for LNG liquid density to MMSCF Gas. 4) is this a MR , with N2. Cascade ? 5) what is basics of main HEX ? Multicomponent ? 6) what is Gas Volume. ?? My dear friend Mehdy. You are such a brilliant man ….. can Mr Hoegh discuss , or does he just let his minor technical dudes tell him?? Like buying a car , and you ask what model car is it ?? The guy behind the desk with polished shoes says ,,,,,,just a car. Importante que los Jefes, Instructores, población del proceso , etc. sepan algo. ?? If not then Mr Hoegh , may I sell you an aluminum based spiral wound HEX that can liquefy gas from 35 C to -162 C. Any thoughts. I have worked in the oil/gas business as plant operator, staff instructor, plant “mood” variations , and all technology for 55 years . If I needed to speak to Mr. Hoegh , he’d be at lunch with the big shots. !!!!!!! SO SORRY !!!!!!! I am COMPLETELY DISTRESSED when a difficulty technology isn’t even addressed. What’s being sold ??? Imported bananas.
