We have successfully completed our sixth stress test and fourth Ultimate Burst Pressure (UBP) test for our LIFE® 10 commercial space station technology, achieving a rupture at 255 psi, the highest pressure yet. This test exceeded NASA's Factor of Safety recommendations, demonstrating a safety factor greater than 16x in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and 23x in lunar environments. Our team continues to lead in the development of expandable structures for various space applications, as we build the world's first commercial space station. Press Release: https://lnkd.in/euKs3_-A

Looking forward to seeing this system in orbit as the commercialization of space continues. I believe in a strong national defense. Yet I look forward to the day that commercial space endeavors such as materials research, zero gravity manufacturing, space born secure data networks, tourism, mining and expanding human habitation to places other than earth become the dominant space economic driver it deserves to be. I believe we are still at the dawn of the new space economy and the possibilities are so vast, a space economy bubble seems almost unfathomable. Keep up the good work Sierra Space!
Thats amazing, but then again so is the opening of your logo... 🤩
Congratulations on exceeding the safety factor by such a significant margin! Has the structure now been signed off? What other tests are required to fully qualify it before it heads to LEO for testing?
This is amazing!! Congratulations🚀
