Ramadan can offer valuable lessons for teachers in several ways: Self-Discipline and Focus: Fasting during Ramadan requires self-control and perseverance. Teachers can learn from this by applying similar techniques to stay focused on their goals and manage their classrooms effectively. Empathy and Compassion: Ramadan emphasizes understanding those less fortunate. Teachers can use this as a reminder to be patient and supportive of students from all backgrounds, especially those who might be facing challenges. Importance of Community: Ramadan is a time for increased connection and sharing within Muslim communities. Teachers can use this as inspiration to build a strong classroom community where students feel supported and valued. Resilience: Fasting can be physically and mentally demanding. Overcoming these challenges teaches resilience, a valuable quality for teachers who face various obstacles throughout the school year. Appreciation for Diversity: Ramadan is a unique experience for Muslims. By learning about Ramadan, teachers can gain a deeper appreciation for the diverse cultures and religions represented in their classrooms. In addition to these broader lessons, Ramadan can also be a great opportunity to: Integrate cultural learning: Teach your students about Ramadan traditions and Islam, fostering inclusivity and understanding. Offer flexible learning: Be mindful of students who may be fasting and adjust schedules or workloads as needed. By incorporating these aspects of Ramadan, teachers can create a more supportive and enriching learning environment for all their students.... so follow the discipline in your teachings as Fasting and achieve your goals in this Ramadan Ramadan kareem🫶🏻

I believe the way forward in Papua New Guinean Education System would be a total reform of the teaching curriculum commencing with early childhood learning! With myriad of teaching and learning possibilities, the foci should be on ATTITUDE as knowledge we possess and practice we're more than capable of but the attitude is lacking. Pedagogical approach practiced by renowned philosophers and educationists like Piaget and Vygotsky are the intricacies of a desired curriculum outcome. If we could consider embedding Indigenous knowledge too then we could revolutionize the system as an holistic approach into taking back PNG! This is possible and is achievable! #RevolutionizeWithReformedCurriculum

In Iran, post-method teaching can often feel more like a myth than a widespread reality. While there are educators who aim to move beyond traditional methods, the system's structure, including standardized curricula, exams, and a heavy focus on grammar and rote learning, often limits true post-method implementation. The idea of post-method pedagogy is about teachers making informed, adaptive choices based on their students' needs and local contexts. However, in many Iranian classrooms, teachers may feel pressured to stick to prescribed methods due to expectations from parents, school authorities, and institutional constraints. This makes it challenging to fully embrace the flexibility and autonomy that post-method teaching advocates. Yet, there are exceptions, and some progressive educators are experimenting with more holistic approaches. Overall, though, it's still more of an ideal than a widespread practice in the country. Does this align with your perspective?

I was listening to news on Sanyu Fm the other day and Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is releasing samples/formats of the new Competence Based curriculum (CBC) examinations. As a marketer working with a publishing firm for academic textbooks (Primary and Secondary) I have noticed quite often that schools, teachers and parents are purchasing the old curriculum textbooks and I'm always compelled to ask why they are buying old curriculum textbooks as opposed to the new curriculum ones. Some of the answers I get include: 1. Some teachers don't understand the new curriculum so they insist on using the old one. 2. The old curriculum textbooks have more content and are easy to understand. So my questions today will be; 1. Are we ready for this new Competence Based Curriculum? 2. How will learners pass these exams if some teachers insist on using the old curriculum? 3. What will happen to learners that are currently in Senior 4 covering the new CBC yet the new curriculum for A'level is not out yet?
